Any Borderlands 2 players here?

I'm having a bit of fun just hacking around the game a bit now that I've done the main story twice.

I have a level 36 Gaige and I maxed out all the skill trees via some fun modding but I can't seem to find a decent shield for her.

Any suggestions please?

Come to think of it the guns are pretty crap that I picked too.....

My current load

lvl 34 Clement Crowdsourcing
lvl 33 Chickamin Muckamuck
lvl 36 Bandity Magamum
lvl 34 Virulent Glory
lvl 34 Goat rope booster shield

I've played a fair bit on and off over the years, though mostly just as Gaige (two playthroughs) and Maya (just the one). I started a game with each of all the others just to get a sense of how they play, but most of them only got as far as Sanctuary. Though I'll probably go for Zero the next time I reinstall it. I think I did try for a third playthough, but at that difficulty you literally have to slag EVERY enemy before you can do any real damage, and that felt more like a chore than anything resembling a fun challenge.

Can't remember off the top of my head what specific loadout I prefer for Gaige, but IIRC the build involved investing a lot into Anarchy, and Smaller, Lighter, Faster to get the mag size down as low as possible (as little as 1 shot on certain shotguns) to get the stacks up as high as possible, and Close Enough to compensate for the total absence of any hope of accuracy. I didn't invest much into Deathtrap, and what I did was mostly into things that have him buff Gaige rather than do more damage on his own. He's mostly useful as a tank to keep some of the attention off you, and to recharge your shields.

Go-to weapons were mostly whatever is the best, low mag size, high projectile count shotgun you can find for building stacks, and an elemental SMG or two when you need to apply an effect. Obviously sniper rifles are pointless, assault rifles don't seem to have enough damage output or fire rate to be worth it so I never bothered, so the 4th slot was usually a rocket launcher to help with bosses, or certain surprisingly powerful pistols as a backup when ammo gets low (because you will burn through a ton of shotgun ammo.)

I'm actually finding Gaige much more fun than Maya. I'm told Salvador is a very good one for solo players so next time I'll pick him

I tend to think Gaige is the better choice for solo play overall, mostly because of Deathtrap, but also for the versatility. Most of the other classes are designed around the idea that they'd be part of a 4 person co-op experience (and let's be real, very few people are ever going to play any Borderlands game that way) as they each fill a certain niche; whereas Gaige as one of the DLC characters seems to have been built with solo in mind.

Salvador seems like fun on paper, but I played him a little and honestly I didn't feel it. I found Maya to be the most balanced of the vanilla characters with crowd control, high damage, and self heal skills she's a solid allrounder.

Well so far I'm enjoying the game with Gaige
