Ants!!!!

We had some ants in our kitchen as a child but never anything that couldn't easily and quickly be dealt with. I've had much more issues over my lifetime with roaches than with ants.

Now that I think about, in my current location (where I've been for about three years now) I really can't remember ever seeing ants at all...I guess they don't like it here.

I have 1-3 ants in my bathroom sink pretty much all the time. I have no idea what they're doing in there. Getting water, maybe.

I've tried flushing them out but they just bring new ones.

To the OP, I can't help thinking that there must be somewhere in your contract with your landlord where he has to address stuff like this, and not just refuse to do anything. I'd think you could at least take him to small claims court or something.

As soon as we get the sound fixed I'm sure our man on the spot has something to say...

^ 26 posts, ladies & gentlemen. Who had 26 posts as their over/under on the thread?

(I was SO tempted to use that Family Guy clip earlier, but figured I'd let someone else get round to it eventually! :D )

Go get a spray bottle of Best Defense. Spray around the outside walls, and around doors. Works like a charm and dries fast.

There, there -feel better now?

A litte, thank you. I'll just sit here rocking back and forth for a little longer though.

Holy crap, I have a sewer for a mind... you don't want to know what imagery came to mind here. I think it was the phrasing of your last sentence, it just reminded me of a personal hygiene or similar type of ad.

Raid didn't work...and the landlord has been dealing with the problem, so there's nothing that we could take him to court for and we're all friendly in the house so that is not an option. My complaint isn't with him either, it's the damn ants. He knows on some level that he's gonna have to call an exterminator.

As I posted, try Terro and follow the real easy instructions. Doesn’t spread poison except back to the nest. Amazing to see all these ants crowding the stuff on the cardboard. Then dying. Perverse satisfaction there.

Raid is designed to kill them on contact. It doesn't have the residual effect you need to eliminate the ant population or at even repel them from the interior unless you just get lucky.

You need products like Ortho Home Defense spray (Bifinthrin .05%, iirc) to repel them from the structure (esp. the entry points), and Terro bait stations (Borax 5.4%) to eliminate any that make it past the Ortho or may be taking up residence in your wall void (but don't spray the Terro stations with the Ortho, you don't want to repel them from the bait).

I do this for a living.
