Anton Yelchin dead in rollaway car accident

Just saw the headline and couldn't believe it. Tragic. I was looking forward to Beyond but now It will be very strange to see him in the new movie.

I think if there's a fourth movie Chekov shouldn't be recast in that one as a mark of respect.

Alice Eve shared a very nice moment of Anton making music on set

The subject line is a little... inaccurate. It was an automotive mishap (possibly he didn't set the parking brake) but not a "crash" in the sense we usually associate with the word.

First noted him in Huff in 2004 and immediately liked him and many of his "smaller" performances in indie films have been wonderful.

Wasn't a great fan of Chekov in the recent films, but not for his performance, rather due to the writing. Regardless, with Peggy on board writing Beyond I was hoping for a little more for Yelchin this time around. Watching will be tinged with real sadness no matter how big the adventure is.

A loss of a real upcoming talent.

HUGO - this year has been a complete wreck of death, horror and tragedy... and barely half way through. 2016, please kindly just feck off, won't ya? :censored:

Damn, he was a baby. Younger than my youngest daughter.

His poor parents. He was an only child.

Very sad.

R.I.P. Anton Yelchin
Terrible this news about his death :-(
Our Trek family is missing one of its youngest members today.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

The story I've read was that he was hours late meeting up with his friends. When he didn't pick up his calls they head over to his house and found his body pinned against his own running car.

He either got out of the car to get mail and the car wasn't parked and it rolled toward him.

It's really horrific.

To know he got pinned between the gate and car is morbid.

Been unplugged and offline since Friday and just saw this devastatingly tragic news!!

So sad, such talent. You will be missed sir, rest in peace.

Utterly tragic and horrifying news, he was a fantastic actor and I'm certain he would've had a truly successful career ahead of him. Rest in Peace, Anton.
What do you mean, “ahead of him”? He was right in the middle of it! “Green Room”, “Fright Night”, “Terminator”, “Star Trek” ... he was in some of the most high profile things coming out these last few years.

I loved him as Chekov. What a sad sad day. I don't even know ... :(
