Anti-Trek sci-fi show/movie?

They did. It was called: Deep Space Nine. Hello?

I always took DS9 as more anti-TNG then anti-Trek.

Yep. DS9 is the series most like TOS in its sensibilities. TOS depicted a Starfleet and Federation that was far from antiseptic.

BSG is an acceptable anti-Trek, as is Firefly. But to me, the essence of Star Trek is its optimism, the notion that the little guy isn't inevitably going to be the victim of the whims of a cruel cosmos. Farscape took the cynical stance that the cosmos is cruel, get used to it, suckers. I can't quite tell what BSG is doing - maybe it's pessimistic, maybe it's actually optimistic in a religious way or maybe it's just incoherent. Firefly didn't last long enough for me to figure out its worldview but I suspect it was faux-cynical. Eventually Mal would have gotten his ideals back. That's Star Trek in wolf's clothing.
