Looks like Disney/Marvel is making some changes to their slate again.

Captain America: Civil War (5/6/16)
Doctor Strange (11/4/16)
Guardians of the Galaxy, vol. 2 (5/5/17)
Untitled Spider-Man Film (7/28/17)
Thor: Ragnarok (11/3/17)
Black Panther (2/16/18 - pushed up from 7/6/18)
Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1 (5/4/18)
Ant-Man and the Wasp (7/6/18 - NEW!)
Captain Marvel (3/18/19 - pushed back from 11/12/18)
Avengers: Infinity War - Part 2 (5/3/19)
Inhumans (7/12/19)
Untitled Marvel (5/1/20)
Untitled Marvel (7/10/20)
Untitled Marvel (11/6/20)

Also, not Marvel but Incredibles 2 has a release date - 6/21/19!

Looks like they want Wasp for Infinity War, Part 2.

I love the title of Ant-Man and the Wasp. It’s just so retro, like Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man or something. Heck, it sounds like one of Aesop’s Fables. Plus, it’s great to see a female character getting title billing, even if it’s second billing.

Speaking of which, one of those unannounced movies really, really should be a Black Widow solo film. It’s way overdue.

I predicted Ant-Man and the Wasp title here a couple of months ago here on Reddit. Didn't think we'd actually be getting it though! Pretty cool!

I imagine that Guardians Volume 3, Spider-Man 2, and possibly another Black Panther or Doctor Strange movies are among those if their characters are successes (they're going to be).

The Spider-Man films are still being produced and distributed by Sony, despite being part of the MCU now. So I don't think they'd be counted as part of Marvel Studios' release slate.

Very exciting development. Making Hope Scott's total partner in "crime" should be a lot of fun.

It's interesting how Ant-Man and Wasp are now at the forefront and it's not Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne.

Isn't this the second time 'Captain Marvel' has been pushed back? IIRC it was originally slated for July '18.
Good to see The Wasp getting in the title and yes, they really do need to give Black Widow her own movie, cable mini-series, webisodes or something.

There's already one on the list, The Untitled Spider-Man.

They should just keep that title. Has a nice ring to it.

Well, they're financed by Sony, but they're produced by Kevin Feige. Given that the whole point of announcing dates it to stake out a claim and, given that we've already seen that a Spider-Man film's date causes them to rearrange their schedule, I think it's likely they'd put a Spider-Man film on one of those dates.

So, that's three or four Marvel MCU movies most years, plus a Sony MCU movie every couple of years (or every year with spinoffs ?), plus X-affiliates at about one per year.

I can certainly take five or maybe six a year. Great news !

I like the legacy-hero idea. It adds a sense of history that the other Marvel movies (other than Cap) haven't really had.

Here's a thought, though: A lot of titles have double meanings. Could this be a film that's about both the Scott/Hope pair and the Hank/Janet pair? Not like flashbacks, necessarily, since that'd be a ton of CGI de-aging for Michael Douglas, but a parallel story that's as much about Hank trying to find and rescue Janet as about Scott and Hope being active superheroes. Or maybe it'll be about the current Ant-Man and the Wasp going into the Microverse to rescue the original Ant-Man and the Wasp after Hank gets himself trapped there searching for Jan.

Perhaps flashbacks or another 'one-shot' episode centring on them?

As someone said in the other Ant-Man thread, the fact that they didn't just use a generic actress/model/whatever for stock photos of Janet (the way they did for Howard Stark in Iron Man, before re-casting him for sequels and Captain America) does tend to suggest they've plans for her but haven't yet cast the part.

I like the sound of that. Not so much deaging if the originals are seen in costume too !

Whoever plays Janet probably won't have to be de-aged - I would expect that they'll have the Microverse keeping her young. So they'd only have to do it for Michael Douglas.

I'm sure not having Hank and Janet also avoids conversations about the domestic violence incident.

No reason that "incident" has to be part of the movie version of the characters. Adaptations are an opportunity to start fresh, to discard the bits that didn't work and do a new version that distills things down to the best bits. The "domestic violence incident" was essentially an art mistake; it was scripted as an erratic Hank swinging his arms wildly and backhanding Jan by accident, but the artist was trained to "go big" and drew it as a violent blow. It was an isolated moment that's been blown way, way out of proportion in the public perception of the character. There's no reason the movie character should be saddled with that baggage. The movies' Iron Man isn't an alcoholic. The movies' Nick Fury didn't lead the Howling Commandos in WWII. The movies' Hawkeye isn't an ex-criminal, as far as we know. So there's no reason why the movies' Hank needs to have that "incident" included in his backstory.

Oh, come on. This is the second time Captain Marvel has been delayed. Her film is officially the only film that's not even begun pre-production yet and it's being pushed back like everyone has zero faith in her as a character. And to make matters worse, she's going to be up again DC's Shazam, which is many of you don't know was also called Captain Marvel.

And I'm sorry, but having Marvel use Ant-Man and the Wasp as a way to show how far they've come in female representation in their movies doesn't amount to jack. The title is following the same principles as the last two Avengers movies because, you know, Black Widow and Scarlett Witch were Avengers, so they were technically part of the title before Ant-Man and the Wasp.

This is the sort of thing that just sets me off an all kinds of crazy places. I used to not say that the studio was prejudiced towards Captain Marvel but I couldn't because Thor and Black Panther were delayed at the same time as well. But now that can no longer be the case because Thor wasn't delayed any further and Black Panther has actually been moved to an earlier release slot. Captain Marvel, the only solo-female Marvel Film has been pushed back for twice for both a reboot and a sequel.

One last bit. If the current line up holds, Marvel will have completed 20 whole films before Captain Marvel gets her own movie. DC has Wonder Woman as their 4th movie. This is ridiculous.
