Another spare parts bash

I love Dreadnoughts :D.
This is an extra PNT Models 1/1000 DN 2ndary hull mated to a new Modular Models Surya class primary hull. Phaser emitters (teeny glass beads) were added in the FJ/Mastercom positions. Markings are based on JTGraphic's post-TOS-but-before-TMP design. Overall color is "Neutral gray" - I wanted something darker than usual for a battleship.

[geek]why is the registry number over 2000? It suggests it post-dates the introduction of the Excelsior class[/geek]

It looks nice tho.

That is gorgeous, Forbin! Good choice of colors, too. I actually like that design better than FJ's dreadnought.

Not really. Since this is based on a Franz Joseph design, and FJ's tech manual assigned registry rnumbers not chronologically but rather by vessel type (i.e. scouts/destroyers are 6XX, heavy cruisers are 1XXX, dreadnoughts are 2XXX, and tugs are 3XXX), there's really no problem.

Si, I tend to use the FJ system (or at least keep it in mind) when doing TOS bashes.

Um, is that a TOS purist system?

Have you ever considered modelling the Star Fleet Battles carrier (USS Pizza Cutter)?

I don't know what that is.

Define "TOS purist" in a way that doesn't make me think you're trying to be an insulting elitist.

Great model as usual. My hat is off to you sir. I would include an emoticon to that effect, but we don't have one. It is due in on Tuesday.

Any chance your going to put out a calendar like you did a few years ago?
