Ok, this one might be easy.

I have a Dell Dimension. I few months ago I had a problem, and I used the Operating System disk to reinstall the operating system, and it worked peachy. All the data was saved.

Now I need to do the same thing again, so I'm using the same disk. During the forth step, it asks me to click "ok" to reboot. Howver, before that happens the mouse and keyboard stop working during the process.. the lights simply turn off (the lights that indicate that they keyboard and mouse work). I can't click ok to complete the process. A forced reboot simply starts me back up at the beginning of that step.

Help!

LOL

It could be that your issue has gotten worse. Are you sure that your hard drive is still ok? Are you using PS/2 type keyboard and mouse? Your computer probably supports a USB keyboard. I'd try to get to the bottom of this.
