Well that's more a compositing problem, rather then a CGI problem.

Hell, thats not even something that has to do with CGI, it can happen with model work as well.

Honestly, for the time, the effects work in Titanic, with the complexity and length of the shots they needed, was the best there is.

No they weren't, and certainly not for 1997.

I was referring to these type comments... for their time they were great CGI effects. It is not fair to call them awful by TODAY'S standards.
