while plot details are being kept under wraps this project is an origin story that takes place decades before the original 2009 Star Trek film.

This just sounds like the same kind of Chris Hemsworth as Dad Kirk story we've heard stories about forever.

? It doesn't sound like anything. We've been told literally nothing except it's decades before 09. And the Hemsworth Kirk movie was a time travel film where he was brought to the future, not set in the "past".
