The size of its docking ring means it's way bigger than a travel pod (And seven people can fit in one of those pods.) So probably not coffin-sized. Also, someone piloted it away after Spock was deposited on the Enterprise.IIRC, that Vulcan shuttle was just a one-man vehicle. As in, basically just a coffin attached to a warp sled. Surely too crowded for five people.
Yes.I just was reminded that William Shatner's first wife's maiden name was Rand. He was married to her up until after the series was canceled. Can it be a coincidence that his love interest in the first part of season 1 was yeoman Rand?

Not literally a coffin. And this: didn't Spock walk aboard the Enterprise upright (when he ignored Chekov), not wriggle head first out of a coffin?

Gloria Rand and boy did she take him to the cleaners after their marriage collapsed!!!

Yeah, that was why Shatner spent most of the 70s taking any job he could get, good or bad.The story is, his alimony payments were based on his Star Trek salary, and suddenly Star Trek was canceled but he still owed the money. That's a disastrous bit of timing for the man in a divorce.
There is news that he just filed for divorce from his current wife. I feel it's my business to know about it.![]()
I married my second wife twice...and glad I did (at least that's what she tells me.)I won't get married again I can tell you that!

Actually, it was supposed to be bigger (~60' long) than the standard shuttles the Enterprise was supposed to carry (~40'), as discussed in this interview (link) and seen in the image below by Probert, which compares the sizes of the two. Note the humanoid figure to the left.IIRC, that Vulcan shuttle was just a one-man vehicle. As in, basically just a coffin attached to a warp sled. Surely too crowded for five people.
