Anniversary DVD's

John Picard

In 2007, I bought two movies that were "Anniversary" DVD releases. They are The Blues Brothers and Blazing Saddles.

First, I absolutely LOVE both movies. They are original, fresh, and could never be made today (specifically the latter).

Second, both have made me gun shy of ever buying any other older DVD's that are anniversary editions. Why?

For some reason, material has been cut from both movies! :scream: I am positive a bit was cut here and there from The Blues Brothers (specifically the scene where they have the concert and the police arrive, plus
in Blazing Saddles, several of the Sheriff's attempts at getting rid of Mongo were cut.

What's the deal? Has anyone else experienced this?

Well some anniversary editions make my DVDs look old.
Like on my Ghostbusters DVD it says "15th Anniversary Edition" on the cover, when now the film is 24 years old :)
