Anniversaries!

Trek Survivor

A franchise as long-standing as Trek inevitably ends up celebrating some sort of anniversary/milestone occasion every year. Here's a few over the next 24 months:

2011
10th Anniversary of Enterprise
15th Anniversary of ST: First Contact
20th Anniversary of ST VI: The Undiscovered Country
25th Anniversary of ST IV: The Voyage Home
45th Anniversary of Star Trek

2012
10th Anniversary of ST: Nemesis
30th Anniversary of ST II: The Wrath of Kahn
40th Anniversary of ST: The Animated Series

So, which ones are you most looking forward to/makes you feel nostlalgic/makes you think "it's been that long!?!"/do you intend to mark etc etc.

They all make me feel old.

Oh, and 2012 is actually only the 39th anniversary of TAS, just FYI.

God, I feel old. The 45th anniversary of Star Trek is less than a month before my 40th birthday.

I'll most likely celebrate the 45th anniversary of Star Trek. That sort of covers everything in one shot. And taking into account the fact that it's the series that started it all, it's reasonable to consider that the most important of any Trek-related anniversaries.

It's such a strange feeling to think about celebrating something older than I am...

Why? Christmas and the 4th of July are older than all of us (unless there are 250 year old posters than I don't know about!).

Well, yeah, but everybody celebrates those, it's something we're used to. I'd say celebrating the birth of a TV show is a wee bit different from celebrating the birth of a religious figure or state.
