Anger Management.

Charlie Sheen is back.

Meh.

Michael Boatman is there to prove that Sheen hasn't burnt all his bridges, since they spent 2 years together on Spin City with no untoward repercussions.

Jesus!

Look at the cast!

Methinks the casting happened in Charlie Sheen's hot tub... Nothing dirty, just a wad of b-list TV actors chilling out after a hard night of far too much semi legal joy talking about how they should do something together tomorrow.

But...

Was it funny?

"Barely"

They were setting up paradigms, laying plot in the pilot, and the introductions were quite important, and I was amused but... There was no huge moment.

I listen to my balls and my my balls were not impressed.

Not that I'll stop watching.

It will get better.

Or become cancelled

Win/Win.

Although there is a question of Sheens ego, that in a remake of Jack Nicholson *&^%ing with Adam Sandler, Charlie sees himself as Jack Nicholson the therapist rather than as the little guy getting manipulated by a manic mastermind.

Ahh nuts! I thought this was gonna be about the actual movie.

Still, Sheen is crazy enough, so I'll give this a look-see. I could see him as the mess-er rather than the mess-ee.

Goosfraba baby!

I liked it. A little rough, but then again I've rarely seen a comedy that hit the ground running in h first episodes.

As a fan of Sheen, I'm planing to stick with it.

I just want to know how the guy gets all those women. I mean he's not that great looking nor does he have any kind of body to drull over. But he keeps getting girls and hookers in real life I mean comeon.

As for the show I liked it though I did think it would be closer to the movie than what it was.

^ Hookers are easy to get if you have the money.

And I would be happier if the series wasn't that close to the movie. Reusing an overall concept is one thing, but redoing all the situations would be a little silly.

The characters don't even have the same names.

Talking to strange drunk women sniffing mysterious powder off toilet seats is difficult.

They're busy.

Occupied.

Most men are able to sleep with 3 percent of the women they meet.

Even if Charlie is able to sleep with 15 percent of the women he meets, and he meets 1000s or girls in semiromantic situations a month, yes a month, he still shouldn't have to resort to paying for pornstars to be held at gunpoint unless quality is better than quantity, and what your definition of quality is.

It's called charisma, you may have heard of it.

And yeah, money for the hookers.

Well.. pornstars are easier to get if the work as hookers too and there's no fuss or effort to get them into bed.. a simple phonecall and within the hour you are sweating and having fun.

This is why some men prefer hookers if it's just sex and money not an issue.. you get exactly what you want bodytype wise and you don't have to pretend anything.

Some men however take that as "You can be the biggest ass because you pay her well".. well, that's personal culture and manners. A hooker is still a person and it hurt nobody to be civil and mannered.

As to the show.. as usual for a pilot much introduction, the occasional laughter and such. Will stick around to see how it develops.

From what passes for news, I believe the pornstar locked in the bathroom was being paid 15 thousand dollars a night (Could have been an hour, but that can't be right?) to face death.

In an old jerry Springer, a lad justifying prostitution bastardized that classic Groucho Marx quip "I would never want to sleep with a woman who would want to sleep with me."

(edit)

"Oh?"

I'm finally watching this weeks Necessary Roughness and it's focussing on the ins and outs of a Slump buster too, just like the second episode of Anger Management.

A weird confluence.

In addition to money, Sheen has celebrity status, he's famous, he can walk up to any restaurant, night club or casino in the world and they'll open the front doors wide. that's a powerful draw to a lot of women.

So why does he hire prostitutes? Remember, you don't pay a hooker for sex, you pay her to leave after sex.

:)

Was that almost a pun?

I mean why pay a prostitute for an hour if your biology can only hang on for three minutes?

So she doesn't tell it to her friends? :p;)

But that theory only stands if she's a classy prostitute.. all the others apprently have the tabloid of choice on speed dial to make some extra cash. Something many celebrities apparently always forget and then get pissed when it's page 1 news

Where I live prostitutes are completely legal, and famous people on TV buy bread and wine the same place I do.

Prostitution is legal in Germany too.

Good for you!

I don't know about you FPAlpha, but most of the time i forget it's been legalized.

It's amazing what passes for crime and scandal in America.

Guy, the line "you don't pay a hooker for sex, you pay her to leave after sex," is what Sheen said to explain why he was paying for hookers from Heidi Fleiss.

Watched the first 15 minutes. Thought it had potential, and I liked the basic setup and characters (especially the bitchy hot girl), but unfortunately it just wasn't all that funny.

And the loud and annoying laugh track just seemed to make it worse.

Well Hiedi wsn't very attractive, if she wouldn't cook breakfast in the morning to make up for that, it's a good thing she would leave.

By Sheens reckoning then, it was only a strict professional work ethic that had that pornstar lock her self in the toilet when he started waving that cocaine stained hand gun around, and she wasn't going to run for her life until she was off the clock.

Fleiss was the madam, not the prostitute and Sheen said that back in the 1990s when he was still somewhat sane. I was merely explaining to you where the quote came from.
