Damn, I dig these guys.

Liking Blink 182, I think I'm 'predisposed' to them, but damn.. they're strong, great live.

Anyone else like them?

I hadn't even heard of them prior to this week's Rock Band DLC offering. Listened to the d/l track and didn't care for it at all. Haven't listened to any of their other stuff though.

I like what I've heard, but I haven't really sat down and listened to their albums start to finish, or enough to say I'm a fan.

I heard their first single "The Adventure" back in 2006 and liked it a lot, esp as a previous fan of Blink 182 back in my High School days.
Then I saw Angel & Airwaves live when they supported the Foo Fighters in June 2006 in Manchester. I enjoyed their performance, and some good songs, although Tom DeLonge did start talking some crap about post 9/11, Iraq bollocks, which the crowd really didn't care about

I bought their first album We Don't Need To Whisper the next day, and yeah its great. Some awesome tracks on there, it's got a very Boxcar Racer feel to it.
My favourites tracks would be The Adventure, A Little's Enough, The War, and Good Day


I got their second album I-Empire in November 2007... hmm. Not impressed.
To be fair I only listened to it about twice, and haven't really given it another try since. I'd just rather listen to the first one


btw, have you heard Mark Hoppus' band +44? It's ok, more in the style of B182 than A&A

No, haven't heard +44 - have to check that out.. thanks!

You know, I think I-Empire is overall a strong album... I was worried that their followup to We Don't Need to Whisper would disappoint, but it didn't at all. Give it another listen.

I liked the first album MUCH more than I-Empire. I think it just flowed better and had great songs. I-Empire was sort of hit and miss. Although, "Everything's Magic" is easily one of my favorite songs of all time. It also describes the way I think of AvA's music, almost magical. Which sounds kind of gay now that I say it. Just pretend I didn't.

DarkHelmet do you have the Boxcar Racer album?
The side project Tom DeLongue and Travis Barker did from blink-182 in 2002? If you like Angels & Airwaves you should really like this. Similar kinda style, defo a big part in the creation of A&A.
Funny though how Travis Barker was part of it, but joined up with Mark Hoppus for +44 in the post-blink 182 bands
