Angel...the beginning of the end

A Willow show would be really lame. An Oz show would probably be very quiet.

I will say, however, that in the Season 5 episode I just watched with the werewolf girl...when I first saw the werewolf, I was really hoping it would turn out to be Oz.

I think Willow would be fine fronting a show. She can't be the only Buffy/Angel character on it though. I would try to sign Xander and Giles on and pray to god for a return of OZ:drool:

One of the rumors going around was that if Angel season 6 had happened, Oz would have returned.....

I do wish that the "Bargaining" credits had called the show "Willow" or something other than "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", as a mislead.

would you want Good Willow or Dark Willow:lol:
I think a Willow show would of been great. You could have her trying to move on with her life and growing stronger as a witch but to which side would she be drawn to White or Dark? Could have Giles there to watch over her and help her become a strong white witch and yet ssomeone like Faith or Spike luring her to walk on the wild side and tatse the power of using Dark magic to help defeat vampire and ect.

I think I just got a little underwhelmed with Willow towards the end. She had 2 storylines: 1) "I'm a lesbian and like petting other lesbians' hair," and 2) "Magic makes me evil! Wah!"

Sometimes those two storylines intertwined, and it was twice as annoying. Any scene between Willow and Tara usually bored me to tears.

Bi-sexual. She loved Oz too I think she was Bi. I don't know if there was an offical saying by the crator which she was but i would think Bi.

Anyways  Dawn .....:scream: I was hoping to God a vampire would snap her neck.

She referred to herself as gay many times. And that really has nothing to do with my point.
oh I get your point though. I love willow but wasn't a huge fan of "Oh my damn sexuality drama and dark magic" willow:lol: it was like Spike going through puberty.

It seems that Willow started out bi but ended up full on lesbian, particularly in the Season Eight comics. I remember when she first went for Tara they were saying in interviews 'she's not gay she's just in love with someone who happens to be a woman'. I wonder if they were attempting to defuse controversy? ... As for Season Five on the whole, I think the first half of the season suffered from stand-alone-itis but the back half was excellent. It's hard to say whether S3-4-5 are better than one another, they're each different and wonderful.

I think Angel Season 5 starts out very steady, with the episodes getting used to the new setting and format, but once you get about halfway (to roundabout "Damage" it really picks up)
eg, the Mexican wrestlng episode is a bit of dud IMO; there are some funny bits in it but its just a bit OTT

Cordy is really only 'herself' in Season 4 for the first three episodes where's she on the higher plane. After that she's still Cordy but with no memory, and after she wakes up in "Spin The Bottle" it's Jasmime-at-the-wheel

Cordelia's tale isn't quite over, I don't think I should say any more than that.
I fucking hope not. I would be beyond pissed if the show ended and she was just ignored.

The galling thing is that she almost was. Cordelia in S5 was Plan B. :brickwall:

I can't believe they didn't manage to incorporate even a single reference to Oz amidst the Nina stuff. A throwaway line from Angel to the effect that she's not the first werewolf he's met would've been great.

I tear up all the time in Willow/Tara scenes, not from boredom though.

Well there's a reference as to why Nina the wolf doesn't look like Oz the wolf
Dr Phlox: Lycanthropus exterus. Undocumented in North America... until now, obviously.
Fred: How is it different from a standard werewolf?
Dr Phlox: Oh, biped, for one thing. Walks upright. Canines are a bit longer than normal. Arm span is—

Although Oz's wolf appearance somehow changed between Buffy seasons 2 & 3. I recall that's why they wanted Nina to look different, Oz's wolf mode looking like a "gay possum" as they put it

I don't think it's any spoiler for S5 to say (as I recall) that Cordy came back as Jasmine and was never herself. Either that, or she was Cordy with Jasmine sleeping inside and "Spin the Bottle" made Jasmine take over fully. I forget which. And the reason Cordy is in a "coma" for the end of the season was because the actress was pregnant and giving birth, hence the whole pregnancy storyline, and that's why she's just lying there taking a nap through the end.

Ya, it was planned that Cordy was to be the big bad herself for S4, but then when Charisma told them she was pregnant they rewrote the whole storyline to have her "give birth" to Jasmine instead of just be Jasmine or whatever at the end of the season.

Also, that scene in the final episode with Cordy lying on the floor of the sporting goods store was shot like only a few days after Charisma had just given birth.

As for Cordy being plan B for season 5, I'm still pissed about that.

And as for season 5, depending on where you're up to and I forgot the order, the only thing I have to says is Puppets!

Hmm, I hadn't picked up on that before, the differences mentioned being relative to Oz that is. Still, something with more of a personal touch would've been nice. The show shouldn't necessarily wallow in its own backstory, but in this context the absence of Oz from the text is positively conspicuous.

"Heard what happened up top, offing your dad and all. Don't know if you know this, but, uh... I killed my mum. Actually, I'd already killed her, and then she tried to shag me, so I had to..."

I loved that sequence where Angel & Spike were both trying to console Wesley after he killed his "father." Of course, the only one that doesn't try to talk to Wesley is the only one that had a comparable experience-- Gunn when he killed his sister.

Oh and for the record, I actually liked having Spike onboard for Season 5 as it shook the alpha male pissing contest dynamic between Gunn, Angel and Wes a bit and it never hurts to have someone constantly reminding Angel he's a melodramatic, neanderthal browed, poofter of a Barry Manilow fan. Just for the entertainment factor. ;)

Amen to that. While I felt Spike never really gelled with the rest of the cast, his arguments with Angel were always priceless. It made me wonder why they hadn't moved Spike to Angel sooner instead of wasting our time with all that crappy Buffy/Spike angst.

Definitely some of my favorite Cordelia moments are when she references her experiences from Sunnydale.

One of my favorite refs is in "Untouched" when Angel tells Cordelia that she doesn't know what it's like to have a piece of rebar stuck through his torso. Cordelia then reminds Angel of the end of "Lover's Walk."

We watched a few more tonight!

Yay Cordelia coming back! Boo Cordelia dying! (at least in this instance I think her death, and the episode overall, was handled very well). One of my favorite things about this episode was that, after 5 years, Cordelia and Angel still feel so strongly for Doyle. THis character was only in half of the first season, and Cordelia was disgusted when she heard that Lindsey was using his name.

THe Harmony episode was pretty funny. She's definitely growing on me as a character.

I was definitely feeling that the characters were off the whole first half of the season as a result of their new positions at Wolfram and Hart, and Cordelia's return definitely feels like it set them back on track.

Also, loved seeing the return of Andrew, and it kind of hurt when he told Angel, "No one trusts you anymore."

We ended on "Why We Fight," which was kind of lame. Looks like the puppets are coming up next time...
