Hey guys, this is Andy Bray (NV's Chekov) I recently made a New Voyages video short. I posted the link for it on the NV boards a couple weeks ago and thought it'd be a good idea to post it here as well. Figured it was something that everyone here would enjoy seeing. lol... yes we had a very hard time keeping straight faces during the filming of this. For instance, that close shot of Spock (the one where I step into frame and sing 2 inches from his face) that's the longest we could manage that shot before we both just lost it. We did about 5 takes and that's the longest we could last!!

But in my opinion that's the best way to work, laughing and having a great time. And we had a wonderful time making this. Glad you guys enjoyed it!!

Purely objective comments ...

1 - Nice nips.

2 - I'm not really thrilled with the lip-syncing job ... Your lips barely moved. It reminds me of a co-worker I once had, who had really bad teeth. He was embarrassed by it, so he barely opened his lips to speak.

3 - Hot. I think the next time I watch it, I'll be in my bunk.

4 - Yeah, DeSalle is pretty hot too. I can see where the inspiration came from for this.

5 - When's the next one coming out?

Nice work, Andy!

If I might suggest for the lip-synch, actually sing it out loud with the playback. That tends to minimize the "Look, it's lip-synch" feel because you won't be unconsciously exaggerating your lip movements. (An example of what we tend to do is in, of all places, "Lilo and Stitch", where Lilo is lip-synching to "Heartbreak Hotel". Must have been very difficult to make a cartoon character look like they were lip-synching instead of actually singing.)

Looks and sounds like you had a lot of fun. Yeah, keeping a straight face during some of this can be the hardest job. [grin]
