Spoilers Andor season one

As far as Easter Eggs go this one is a dud.
I have a feeling it's not going to be just an easter egg. In the lore he's Cassian's second in command in his Rebel unit.

He also works at Cassian's table, so he's probably going to be in all the prison episodes.

So if he doesn't show up again after this prison arc, he'll probably show up again eventually in the series.

Well, I guess I'll see him again, one way or another.

In Rogue One, Melshi was the Rebel soldier whom Jyn knocked out, when he turned away from her for a second - during her attempted escape from the Imperial converted-juggernaut transport on Wobani.

I betcha her fist remembers his face, and vice versa…

;)

I almost wish this show was just the Mon Mothma and ISD stories. They are really interesting. The Andor parts are dragging it down.

I do like that it's a callback without waving it in our faces with giant neon arrows pointed at him saying: "REMEMBER HIM FROM ROGUE ONE? HE'S BACK!!"
The most amusing part to me is that it's like the Star Wars version of an inside joke. "Remember him?" "No." "Well, when you do, you're going to laugh."

Finally slogged through this one. I am sorry but it bored me to death. :ack:

Most interesting, trying to figure out which droid or ship the parts he was building in the last episode might have been for.

Best guess, hip hinges for those flying droids with the tentacle/legs hanging below. Upper far right> in this image.

ETA: Oops I thought E8 was the finale.

Oh I didn't until someone else pointed out the connection. But that's fine because the show isn't acting as if you're actually supposed to know who he is.

Exactly. That's why it's perfect. A nice connection for the superfans, but it's not at all essential to know this to enjoy the show.

My girlfriend, who is a star wars agnostic with only a surface-level understanding of the franchise, is enjoying the show with me, but I have to keep telling her, "no, those things weren't mentioned before, and you don't need to know anything about them! The show isn't built that way."

You don't need to have done your "homework" to enjoy this one, it's not shackled to countless bits of lore and doesn't blast you with lame references and jokes. You just need the most passing familiarity with the concepts of "The Rebellion" and "The Empire" and that's basically it. It's also perfectly fine if you don't know Cassian and never saw Rogue One.
