Spoilers Andor season one

I'm fine with people not liking something after the first 3 episodes, I just don't believe in judging a show after a single episode, it could be the worst episode of the series. For me one season is the minimum I watch before deciding if I want to continue.
Time is precious.
The Book of Boba Fett started out a lot stronger than it ended.
It languished for sure, but I enjoyed the ending.

I don't agree.

I can name a handful of shows I love that I would have never have watched completely if I judged them on the first episode I watched.

True. But in this day and age with SO much more content out there than ever before and seemingly so much less time to devote to even a small percentage of it (I basically have time for maybe 2 episodes of something a week), quick cuts have to be made. This would never have happened in the 90s. But now? There has to at least be potential, even with a weak start.

Well the show grabbed my attention from the start. I guess it's a matter of taste.
I've been waiting for something just like this ever since Lucas was spitballing ideas years and years ago for a more gritty, grown-up-oriented Star Wars show for television. ...which never materialized, and we got The Clone Wars instead.

And that's fine. It's not for me and I lack the time right now to indulge in a show finding it's way without a single hook from the go. It doesn't have to be a big hook but there has to be something there that makes me willing to invest in it.

Watched the first three episodes.

It's a good show, but it's not Star Wars. This is a political/crime thriller series written for adults wearing a Star Wars suit. I'll keep watching, but the creative conceits are so different that I don't really think this belongs in the Star Wars universe.

Random question because I see this popping up in many places, not just here: What makes something appropriate for Star Wars? How does something "feel" like Star Wars? I run in to this with so many things, Star Trek included, but when I look at the base conceit of things like Star Wars or Star Trek I just don't see how something like a crime thriller is not allowed, but something like zombies is.

Any type of genre can exist in Star Wars, it's just a backdrop.

Clone Wars had episodes that covered a wide range of genres including political and crime.

I don't get this. Any type of genre can exist in Star Wars, just like any kind of drama can exist on Earth.

Sure, but it's not a question of genre per se. It's a matter who who I get the impression the show is for. Andor feels like this was made specifically to cater to adults with no consideration for children who might want to watch it. It doesn't feel like Star Wars, it feels like The Motorcycle Diaries in Space or The Bourne Identity In Space.

ROTS is not something I have my children watch, or younger people. So, I don't see the whole "not for children" aspect, especially since Rogue One, and Clone Wars both have elements that are decidingly not kid friendly.

Here's one YT video on it, plus their own analysis. But, whenever people go "Star Wars is for kids" I just watch Clone Wars and ROTS and go...sure it is. And this isn't a Disney invention or some such nonsense.
