Not a show but Zaslav is now gutting TCM's leadership, presumably a vanguard to gutting its content.
Yep. They will no doubt keep the big classics everyone knows. But lots of old 30s,40s,50s etc will be kicked to the curb since the youngsters don't watch anything made before 2016 or 2017. I guessing replaced with some cheap movie themed reality tv. Zaslav is my least favorite person in Hollywood these days.
Yeah they bought some Canadian shows too. New ownership trying to fill the schedule on the cheap.

But to make it even worse, we were originally promised a second season! I feel like I'm having flashbacks to Farscape, for fuck's sake.
And not only that, but apparently the show will be removed from Paramount+ altogether, following WB's growing trend of writing shows off for tax breaks.

The article I read said that Season 2 of Prodigy was going to complete production, and then the show would be shopped to another streaming service or channel. I didn't particularly care for Prodigy, but for its fans I hope it finds a new home. Doing this to a Star Trek show, when Star Trek is one of the few franchises propping up Paramount Plus, really paints a bad picture of their general situation.
Yeah, I did see after posting this that the showrunners are hoping to shop the show around and I really hope someone realizes the huge potential for it.
You also make a really good point about how Star Trek is doing a lot of the work in making Paramount+ viable and to cancel one of its shows, one starring a legacy actor and character to boot, is pretty dumb. Without Star Trek, I have zero interest in Paramount+. If there are larger gaps in the calendar year without Star Trek, I'll probably go back to my "only subscribe when one of the Star Trek shows is airing" mode. With two less shows on the docket, that's far more likely now.
So they're only shooting themselves in the foot.

I haven't watched a second of it. Although I'll admit I'm somewhat curious about the Ford/Mirren show...but I've heard that second season is being delayed (because of the strikes or some other reason?).
Other way around. The Yellowstone franchise is what drives Paramount+. It's the biggest TV franchise in the world right now.

Yep. This is not a good sign for Paramount Plus' future. I wonder if they'll follow Max's (currently-being-discussed) lead and send their shows to Netflix. It would bring the streaming wars full circle (from Netflix getting everything to everybody building their own streaming service to Netflix getting everything again).
Disney+ has pulled the plug on a 'Honey I Shrunk The Kids' series that would have featured Josh Gadd and the return of Rick Moranis.
They said they are shopping it around but if nobody offers enough money for it they'll vault it for tax deductions like WBD & Disney have already done to a bunch of their projects.

Ryan Seacrest has been tapped to fill Pat Sajack's role on 'Wheel' starting in 2024 and Vanna White wants a salary increase from $3 million a year to $15 million to match what Sajack is currently making and to keep her on the show once Sajack retires.
