And the Next Cancelled Show is...

DAMN IT!!

I LOVED that show.

I'm almost done with S1. Does S2 have a proper ending or is there a cliffhanger?

It's a pretty good ending. It wraps up the season really well. It sets up the direction the characters WANT to go, but now we'll never know how it played out.

It's a shame. Such a very talented cast, and the writing was really good.

Peacock has pulled the plug on Michael Schur's 'Field of Dreams' miniseries just before filming was set to start; leaving a completed baseball stadium in the cornfields of Iowa behind.

Damn, that sucks. While I was very cautious about the show, Schur's (and Morgan Sackett's) involvement made me curious about it. But it especially sucks that they did all if that construction (and destruction) for nothing.

According to Variety, this happened a year ago. I'm surprised I didn't hear about this sooner. Or maybe I did and forgot.

Are they close to an agreement with the writers yet to end the strike?
Just wondering if other shows could fall because of it.

The early predictions suggested the strike could last for months because the streamer services have a lot of new content to work through.

And yeah, a lot of this will also depend on the potential SAG and DGA strikes. SAG looks to be pretty likely while the DGA could go either way

This is all based on what I read a couple of weeks ago, so things may have changed.

The longest overall strike I've ever witnessed was a year-long strike, lasting from July 2009 to July 2010. That said, they'll want to try to get this resolved as soon as possible, as the industry as a whole could stand to lose lots of money over this until they get it resolved.

The DGA made a tentative deal about a week ago. SAG might strike, though, at the end of the month.

I don't see the WGA strike ending anytime soon. Even August or September would be optimistic. I could see this one going for another year.

Wow... 40+ years... I remember when he took over for Chuck Woolery. Never thought he (or Vanna) would hand around this long.

Apple TV+ has pulled the plug on the re-imagining of Fritz Lang's 'Metropolis' seven weeks before filming was set to start in Australia citing the ongoing writer's strike. 4000 people are now left without jobs.
