And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Anyone know the fate of "Dead Pixels"? I love that show but nothing new since 2021 and no apparent cancellation announcement that I can find. It just sort of...disappeared.
IMDB has it cut off at 2021.

All the actors have moved on.

Which means nothing.

British shows can go into hiatus for generations sometimes, and then just pick right up.

I was going to say that because Will Merrick is in the post apocalyptic syfy drama Silo, he's fairly confident he's done with the UK, but Silo is being filmed near London.

CW is acquiring a bunch of non-USA English-speaking shows to rebroadcast. It's only a matter of time before they become another Ion.

Their final plan is to become %100 reality TV.

But they can't do that until after they have honoured all their contracts.

If they break dozens to hundreds of contracts, that's millions worth of penalties, if not out right new suits against them for unfair dismissal.

So maybe they got just one original show left on the network, that is refusing to go away gracefully, they can't just broadcast the test pattern either side of it for a year, waiting for these assholes to see which way the wind is blowing.

Cheap foreign shit is a good way to hold the line, until they can rebrand with their reality bullshit.

Unless the plan has changed since 2 years ago?

As long as nobody cancels

Succession
Barry
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Cobra Kai
Stranger Things
Handmaids Tale
Yellowstone
and Ted Lasso I should be fine. Nothing to complain about at all.

Succession and Barry already have announced endings with this season. Stranger Things next season was announced as its last as well.

I think it was a joke. The entire list contains shows that have announced last seasons. The possible exception is Ted Lasso, but Jason Sudeikis has said he only wanted 3 seasons.

Cobra Kai has also announced that this is their upcoming final season.

Yellowstone is an odd duck, as this next upcoming season also seems to be its last, due to some conflict between Costner and the show’s creators. They say it’s over scheduling, but who really knows any more. It was not a planned ending, apparently, as it’s one of the best-rated shows on TV and showed no indication of needing to be shut down any time soon.

The Yellowstone spin-off, 1923, will also be ending after its next upcoming season finishes.

The Matt McConaughey spin off seems to be the only one that’s set to continue, but I’m reticent to think it will have the same chemistry as the original.

The McConaughey one is the only spin-off in active pre-production I’m aware of right now. There may be another (prequel), but the show runners and Paramount have both said the franchise needs an “overhaul”. It’s vague, but it sounds like they may be putting a lot of their ideas on pause until they work out a new roadmap.

Paramount is canceling Yellowstone and launching a "spin-off" because while it is, by far, the most popular show on television, Paramount foolishly sold the streaming rights to NBCUniversal before the first episode ever aired, so they can't have it on Paramount+.

This new show gets around that little hurdle.

I thought it was because of Costner wanting out? I mean I do think they are kicking themselves for that choice but at least the current show with Costner is a sure thing.

He was said to have had a bit of a reputation for being a primadonna and difficult to work with. Both Waterworld and Postman suffered from this, IIRC. Rumors about his allegedly unreasonable schedule demands on Yellowstone are quite unsurprising to me.

I heard he only want to work and film all of his scenes in like 10 days, for the rest of a season and then get a pay raise as well.
