I understand why no Chevy but why not Donald Glover?

He's a touring gramy winning rap icon, he's a Hollywood a-lister actor, he's the producer and star of an award winning show on FX.

Although I asked google the same question, and I found a schism that might be nothing. They all did a Table for charity a year ago on Zoom. Not sure if Chevy was there, but probably not. I don't think they all hate Chase. McHale is known to be chummy with him, and spent a bunch of time with him & played Chase in the National Lampoon movie, even though McHale also calls out Chase when he's being a dick. Brie has also said how nice he was to her, he thought she was destined to be a star right away. I think even Harmon has said the two of them have patched things up since, and that Harmon himself had to take a big chunk of the blame for how things turned out - he was a notorious asshole himself, abusing alcohol while making community, and former writers for the show have blasted him for his actions. He even drove a couple out of showbusiness into other careers.

That said, that doesn't mean any of them want to work together again

The new masters of the CW, say that they are only interested in unscripted programming, which means that all scripted programming is going away, as soon as contractual obligations are met to "everyone" who is lingering about.

Considering almost everything on the CW is made in Canada, there's a huge overlap with Canadian Talent and American money, so this sort of pie isn't much a secret recipe.

Well, I was thinking that in the wake of this collapse that Greg Berlanti has the pick of his buddies and favourite muses/talent, to make a super show, not that it has to be licensed or about super heroes at all.

The CW got rid of Mark Pedowitz, too. I expect that channel to be gone within a year or so.

Seems like they really couldn't survive for long without SUPERNATURAL.

The original creative Canadian people seemed to be in charge creatively, but HBO Max and Discovery Channel merged recently and the board was promised 3 billion in savings from fat trimming.

the REBOOT which was just cancelled is an HBO show. I was replying to someone who was talking about how the CW may have affected it. The CW is no longer owned by WB. HBO is. CW's programming decisions and HBO'S programming decisions are unrelated.

It is, which is why I thought it was odd to hear it be an HBO thing. Usually in the case of a co-production, they'll also appear on a Canadian network, which make me think that, if the deal fell through with HBO, that they'd still be shopping it around and that it will eventually be announced for the Canadian market.

Schitt's Creek, for instance aired for many years in Canada before it even got picked for the U.S Market. And just because something doesn't get picked up Stateside doesn't mean it's not aired domestically, as was the case for Due South. That show was cancelled Stateside after 2 seasons, but continued on with a 3rd and 4th season in Canada.
