And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Once Upon a Time is Dead!

ABC finally decided to kill it, one year too late. Maybe they can make season 7 a dream. That's always popular.

Always thought about watching it on Netflix but then it always seemed to get one more season, so I wanted to make sure it had an ending. When I heard they basically did a reboot of the show, I decided nah! though can one watch just the first 6 seasons or are story lines still left open?

If you make it to the 6th season finale (which will be TOUGH) the second to the last scene ends the show PERFECTLY. You will know it when you see it and just shut the episode off. There was never a need for a 7th season at all, which the last scene of the 6th season introduces.

And if you are expecting to have all the storylines make sense and close and conclude, you might want to watch LOST instead. ;) I mean it's just the same exact thing for several seasons. The Frozen season was actually good, the Neverland story was awful, and the later seasons made little sense. I thnk I gave up in the 4th or early 5th.

Scrubs ends for me after the 8th season, so I can do the same with Once Upon A Time ;)

There is a nice 3-5 minutes in the last part of the 6th season that ends the show perfectly like you would expect from an adult-ish fairy tale. I pretend the last two seasons of Roseanne never happened. And hell so does Roseanne from the rumours we get.

I have two questions. DId "Designated Survivor" get axed because they haven't done any new episodes since the First Lady got killed. Also is "Timeless" coming back or not?

Jason

Timeless is coming back March 11th.
Designated Survivor returns from ABC's stupid scheduling breaks on February 28th

Instead of reruns, the networks like to put some shows on an extended break and air something new instead.

I never watched Jericho, but isn't that how CBS killed it? High ratings for the front end, no one watched it after it returned from hiatus?

If "Timeless" comes back in March isn't it going to be competing against March Madness? Are they trying to kill the show?

Jason

And why are so many shows going on "hiatus"? I thought February was a critical ratings month. (Or am I wrong about that?)

Timeless is coming back for a short season, when it should be dead.

Putting it in a timeslot where it's impossible to get good numbers, will hide the fact that it cannot get good numbers, and there was never going to be a season three considering how close there was to no season 2.

Might be the Olympics. Granted I don't even know how popular the Olympics are anymore. I don't really watch that much. In fact I enjoy the World Baseball Classic nowdays even more than the Olympic games.

Season 7 is dire... However the use of Adelaide Kane (Queen Mary from Reign) was inspired up tot he point they tried to justify her Darkside.

It's definitely because of the Olympics.

The Winter Olympics, the one where only old people care. I might watch the figure skating now that the guys are finally admitting they are gay. :) But I think the other networks are starting to care less about it. CW probably doesn't care at all. Their ratings will go up.

Designated Survivor comes back in March with everything else.

Actually, in Canada, the Olympics are a pretty big deal. We have a national network that broadcasts practically all its sports via multiple channels, not just the sports it thinks the audience will be interested in along with great commentary and anything else can be caught via live stream. I think it makes a difference to the level of engagement when you have more to choose from.

Actually you can watch everything here in America as well. Not sure though that access means people are watching. How are the ratings in Canada? I am guessing Hockey does well everywhere and maybe figure skating. Not sure about the skiing and bob slede and to be honest I am not sure what other things you have during Winter Olympics besides those and also curling. Are there any stars in this years Olympics? I think the last one I was familiar with was that Lindsey Vonn. I haven't known a skater since Michelle Kwan and the only bod slede person I ever heard about was the Jamican bob slede team coached by John Candy.:)

Jason

The ratings tend to be pretty good as we get quite a wide coverage. If you narrow it down too much, then I think you start to limit interest. During the last summer olympics, I wanted to see how the table tennis was coming along and found a live stream offered by the network.

It's been a few years since I had cable but here in America I recall seeing how events were spread all across the NBC controlled networks. You would find stuff on Bravo and USA Network and so forth. I wouldn't be surprised nowdays though if you can find stuff on Youtube or just paying for a sports package for the entire event.
