And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Great premise, great potential, but questionable execution at times - Why must all modern TV be soft porn to get anyone to watch?

Even "Lost Girl", one of my faves, was also soft porn on a number of occasions and good shows doesn't need to be dragged down with generic fodder to be interesting as a show.

That and why none of these modern soft porn shows don't address STDs... some might, I've not seen them all so there's bound to be a STD allegory somewhere. What people remember is all the casual unaffirming disposable sex, which isn't "love".

I like how you have a problem with sex, which every living thing has ever done, but don't seem to have a problem with violence.

In unrelated news, The Originals is ending after season 5 in 2018.

I'm glad that they know it and can plan for some kind of cohesive ending.
Actually I doubt that's going to happen, this is a show I enjoy a lot but 90% of the time I have no clue what the hell is going on.

The Middle is ending!!!!!!!! Season 9 will be the last!!!!!!!!!

:(

I need my Axl, preferably wearing only boxers and the storylines being the same silly thing.

Damn, NBC is feeling awfully confident. Hopefully it's is deserved!

This season was going to be 10 episodes, turned out to be 12, then they asked for 4 more, so it's currently 16. Season in 2018 will be at least 13 episodes.

From what I have seen they are trying to fix the mistakes the show made in the last several years and just have Will and Grace be Will and Grace. Grace's child / children will be with the dad or boarding school. The terrible ending will be ignored. I have high hopes and they better deliver.

Yeah, I heard that they did a soft reset (I hate that term but that's essentially what happened here) and I think the show will be well served that way. I missed the last few seasons aside from the series finale (I sure was confused) so I didn't see most of its decline.

I'm half expecting one of the characters to say "I just had the most terrible dream" as a quick way to throw away the final season of the original run.

It got bad and very soup opera over the top stupid. Stan faked his death at one point. It was just really bad.

And I fully expect the 'wow that was an awful dream' to be said in the first episode back. We already know they are ignoring their horrible finale.

Yeah, I heard about Stan but I didn't know it became very soapy in general.

It was all a dream seems like the best solution. It could be any of them but for some reason Jack seems like the best candidate. Or all four of them.

Yeah, even the lighting and way it filmed felt dark and moody and it's REALLY bad. Season 8 just had Will and Grace fight. It's like if they killed the mom on HIMYM.... oh wait.

Netflix has cancelled Gypsy. I watched the first couple of episode and thought it was ok, but no need to finish now.

I've been loving it. That's really too bad, seeing as the show has a slow burn and that it can take awhile to get good. Felt like it had only been on there for a month. The theme song is killer. Loved that version of Fleetwood Mac's Gypsy.

Ironically, I feel it's been one of the few Netflix shows that I've been getting into along with House of Cards and The Crown, as some of the others simply don't interest me very much.

seems like that's something writers struggle with; the 'takes a while to get good' issue. It's like they have a good story idea, but they don't want to get right into it, so they just bumble along and waste time at the beginning; but get cancelled before they can even get to the good part. Gotta give a little more upfront, or there's no reason to let the show exist long enough to find itself. If you don't present a good story idea, people won't watch. Don't hint at a good backstory and then just do random filler while flirting with the idea, you have to keep things moving.

That was why Fridge was decent. They moved the story along nicely, even if the story at times was lame.
