When we have a show we love (like The Mindy Project) that can keep going thanks to all the alternative ways of delivering entertainment.
Hey, I thought Galavant was fun! It absolutely shouldn't have been renewed... but I thought it was fun.
Bummer about the Mockingbird spinoff. That would have been fun. Hope it keeps Adrianne Palicki on SHIELD.
IMO, Mindy Kaling is a riot. I loved the concept of her character. To me, the problem with the show was always that the support cast was so weak. Mindy was the only one on the show who was funny. Well, sometimes the guy who played the office handyman was mildly amusing. Early in the show's run, I remember a woman who was Mindy' friend and was in a wheelchair. She was funny but the character disappeared.

If she had a support cast even half as good as say, VEEP, the show may have really been a big hit. It probably should always have been on cable. But even there it may have had problems because the support cast was so weak.
Calling it now, Brooklyn Nine Nine gets picked up by Hulu for season 4.
Who here is surprised that Extant actually got renewed for the summer? That show had a good pilot but got stale almost immediately, and I never expected to hear from it again.
It's not the shows nobody likes that get picked up by streaming, it's the shows that a very small group of people really, really like. For example, I bet if streaming existed in 1990 Twin Peaks would have taken less than 25 years to get saved. Not to mention Firefly.
Then again if premium networks existed in 1990, Twin Peaks would have been on one and never had network interference, which would have caused it not to get canceled.
