And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Except for TV shows on TV channels, series with 20 episodes per season are not produced. In the streaming era, high-budget TV shows with 8-10 episodes are fashionable. If you want a 20-episode series, TV channels had to make it in the 2010s. Well, it is still applicable, a TV show with 15 seasons consisting of 10 episodes every year can be produced. But they do not prefer it.

Those network shows are also only 40 - 42mins long in run time.

Streaming shows can often been 50min to an hour+

so over 8 eps of the Wheel of Time for example you'd be getting the equivalent to 10 or 11 network tv episodes.

The average length of an hour long show that airs on network television has grown considerably shorter over the decades as more commercials have been added.
It used to be that a network drama would run close to fifty minutes, and it didn't feel like padding.
Now, most dramas today are 40-42 minutes at the most and sometimes they feel rushed.

They're making room for their new CIA franchise within franchises.... FBI: CIA, NCIS: CIA, CIA Country, Criminal Minds: CIA, Sheldon: CIA.

ESPN cancels Around the Horn. Will replace it with a show where Stephen A. Smith argues with three other Stephen A. Smith clones.

FBI: Unemployment. Follow the adventures of ex-FBI Agents Long and Goodwill who have been fired by Musk and now goes on job searches were they never get the job because they are way over qualified to be working as a Mall Cop or Bikini inspector. Watch as they go down and stand in line at the Unemployment Office as they have to take a number and wait to see how much money they will be getting. Thrill as they sell their car that was involved in many cool car chases, because they now have to take the city bus to get around because the car payments were to high.

In other news, for a brief period of time, the Hoover Building was for sale. Can you imagine the stuff hidden in those walls?

The trailer for the live-action Powerpuff Girls TV series, which was canceled by The CW after seeing the pilot episode, has been leaked.

YouTube pulled the Powerpuff Girls trailer, but it's still on Archive.org at the moment. It actually looked like it might have been fun. I liked the conceit that these were the "real" Powerpuff Girls that the cartoon was inspired by, explaining the differences.

^Yeah, Dang for sure as I'm currently watching the second season. Though I suppose maybe the writing was on the wall when the first season was 8 episodes and the second dropped it down to 6. But I've found it to be a well-written show.

Couldn't get to it sooner and watch it fast enough, so of course it gets cancelled. :( Didn't the second season just appear 2 weeks ago?

CBS cancels SWAT again. I'm assuming it sticks this time.

When will they announce SWAT: CIA and SWAT Country?

If you don't want to make a youth series on prime video and get canceled after the first season, you need to do 2 things:

1. You shouldn't make an 'artificial' series.

2. If you want the series you make to be popular, you need to make dramas that 'young viewers can relate to' and say 'yes this could happen to me too'. Like the rich boy and poor girl love cliché in Maxton Hall or the young girl torn between two brothers in The Summer I Turned Pretty. It has to be cliché.

If Reese Witherspoon wants the Legally Blonde prequel to be popular, she should never make an artificial series. And the TV series I wrote above should have more colorful and comedic versions of the topics or at least choose a topic that the audience who will watch that series will approach and empathize with like them.
