And the Next Cancelled Show is...

But wouldn't he be talking about 70's to 80's Billy Joel? Who wouldn't want to be him? Great Singer and can play the Piano and married to Christine Brinkley.

Would I be right in saying that the rock star was the worst path?

By the end of the season, rock star Joe's life went bad: he and his wife couldn't conceive, found out she had an affair with her Congressman boss and she got pregnant from that, made life difficult for his son (from an ex-girlfriend) and his son's adoptive parents, and took to booze and pills requiring a near-fatal car accident and a stint in rehab. But he had money, popularity and a lot of fans willing to forgive his publicly know offenses.

Anyone judging the show with only having watched the first episode or few episodes should really watch it all the way through.

Joe had three different paths he could've taken after college, and the show was about all three paths. In one life, he's a cop. In another, he's a nurse. And in a third, he's a rock star. And it also shows how differently the lives of the people around him turned out.

The premise is interesting but I imagine you have to agree with the writers theses on nature vs nurture to get into it.

If the writers make him three completely different people instead of three different applications of the same person I’d struggle with believing the premise.

Not watched it in years but used to tune in for every episode during the Charlene/Scott days. It was about three months ahead in Ireland so I could ask my Irish cousins if I couldn't wait to find out how a plot unfolds. Daphne was my favourite character and was really sad when she died.

I used to watch it religiously back in the day, would catch the lunchtime episode and the early evening repeat of the lunchtime episode.

Ah Daphne, that was sad. Much as I've adored Kylie for decades, oddly I never fancied her when she was Charlene, possibly because I only had eyes for Plain Jane Superbrain.

Of course Neighbours is also the reason why Guy Pearce will always be Mike from Neighbours, no matter how much time passes!

To a lesser extent the show also featured Alan Dale of course.

I was the same about Charlene and think it was because her character was tomboy so I didn't see her as fanciable. Always fancied the sultry look of Jane.

There were some funny characters back then like Henry Ramsay and Joe Mangle and even the level headed Jim Robinson could get himself in to a mishap. Jim was another favourite character. Harold Bishop and his "Ahh" defines Neighbours from that era.

I wonder what happened to 'that' painting of Mrs Mangle

have heard it's bad and it's bad news if this is true because the people behind the show I think are also going to be in charge of the new Quantum Leap show. My excitement for the show gone down big time from when the news first broke.

You gotta be fucking kidding me... The hacks that do La Brea are going to do Quantum Leap.. Calling it now DOA after season 1

From what I understand the showrunners of that show will be doing it. Though Marin Gero, Donald Bellisario and Deborah Pratt are also involved but who knows how hands on they will be. Also they still haven't been able to get Bakula to sign on for a guest spot but even then if he is just in one episode I don't think that is what most people wanted. I think wanted the show to still be about him or at least his daughter out their looking for him.
