And the Next Cancelled Show is...

In terms of Canadian shows, I don't think Schitt's Creek has a very long life. It's basically a Canadian take on Arrested Development, only not very funny and highly annoying. It's too bad that the CBC jumped the gun on it and ordered a second season before the pilot even aired. It's apparently slated to air on an American network soon (POP, ie TV Guide Channel).

It's not funny, but I find it comforting.

I'm thinking that if Emily Hampshire had had a better agent when she was younger, that she should have been huge.

The CBC need something - it was announced today (or was it yesterday?) that StrangeEmpire won't be getting a second season.

That's too bad. I hadn't seen it yet, but it looked interesting enough and I've been meaning to check it out. To me, the best new show on CBC this season though, is X-Company.

I've watched the first episode but haven't gotten around to the rest.

Oh, X-Company is good.

Weird little missions in France despite living in Canada... What's that? 30 hours in a plane each way praying the Russians don't freak out and fire off a few rounds of artillery because they're drunker than expected.

A girl from Orphan Black and a boy from Continuum.

Good pedigree.

Why did Sleepy Hollow's ratings fall so badly in season 2? I remember all the articles about it being a hit in its first year for FOX?! :wtf:

I guess a show really isn't SAFE until it has reached season 3.

It pulled a bait and switch. It threw away everything that was good about season 1 in favour of promoting a minor character to headliner while sidelining the the characters that actually were important.

I still hope it does get renewed, just to see if it can get back to what worked so well last season. Even if it doesn't, at least they tried to course correct at the end.

It wouldn't have mattered what season it was, the ratings dropped because it sucked. They forgot to bring the fun, introduced new people that weren't needed and got rid of once that were.
It was a mess, if it gets canceled it deserved it.

Hah! Yeah. Apparently it's based on a real Camp-X in Ontario somewhere. Overall, I've been finding the writing to be pretty sharp. I expect a renewal out of this one.

I saw the pilot for "almost human" and quite enjoyed it so I decided to watch the rest of the series only to discover it was already cancelled

I've now watched three more.......still really liking it

This is "Jericho" all over again

I wonder how long Gotham will last. By my calculations, we need twenty seasons to get to Batman. By that time, they will have run out of any villains.

I hate that show and it's aired horribly out of order.

Dull till it wasn't and then it was dull again ignoring that it had been cool.

British or Canadian?

The British came first and then sold their script to Canada who made a clone who was a little more violent and sexier.

Canada = 4 seasons (52 episodes.)

British = 5 seasons (37 episodes.)

(They were both airing new episodes at the same time for a while.)

The British version had a tryout pilot with the wrong cast, so you get to cry and cheer about who was best till you completely get on board with the main crew.

The first seasons on each side of the world were kinda the same, even though the Canadian version had twice as many episodes, and the Season ones ended differently, but after that, Canada didn't seem to bother buying any more scripts, and just made up stuff by themselves.

I'm not aware of British versions of either of the shows I mentioned. Are you talking about "being" human

Never much cared for it (though I do like Russel Tovey)

I'm talking about the future cop show with Karl Urban with a robot sidekick and Mackenzie Crook as the tech nerd
