I'm not torn. You couldn't pay me enough to put something with Musk's name on it in my brain. (To be clear, I wouldn't get this anyway, but having him associated with it just seals the deal.)
 
Brain surgery is one of the more risky medical procedures out there that a human can endure. The nature of the mind is not fully understood and how the brain interacts with the mind. I would not willingly undergo brain surgery for something other than a disease.

So far it seems to be just to help people with severe limb motor defects, I don't see the problem there, just potential benefits
