And now, something "weird" - USS Archon, NCC-0189

Ok, so over here, and on the Sci-fi meshes board, there have been all kinds of Daedalus class ships showing up recently, and I saw one image (I can't find it again) showing a Daedalus with Kelvinized parts. So, I thought I would build something similiar.

I warned you, this is weird. :)

I named it the Archon; Apparently it was supposed to have been a Daedalus class, originally. Maybe this is what it looked like. :)

This is still very preliminary; I haven't even smoothed out the shapes yet.

What do you guys think?

Do the pylons move? In the first two shots, it looks like they're angling up, but in the low shot, they look like a downward slope.

I like it. Retro yet sleek. :)

It would make a cool prime universe ship too without too many modifications... just lose 2 of the nacelles and maybe make the fantail a little less streamlined.

Thanks, guys. :)

Ziz, I think it's an optical illusion. The pylons are 100% horizontal, but they are swept back at an angle. I think that makes it look like the pylons are at an angle. I'll render another image that shows this off better.

You may want to make the front of the pylon straight, and make just the back angled. that *should* eliminate the optical illusion :)

it looks like an accident involving the prometheus and the heart of gold.
remember kids, don't use multi-vector assault mode and the infinite improbability drive at the same time.

I, for one, love the four nacelles thing. It'd be even cooler if each pair had some sort of collective housing.

Like a case that makes the two nacelles look like one that's shaped roughly like 1701-A's.

IMHO for what its worth I would use the original Kelvin secondary hull since the Archon was older then Kelvin.
Its also got a Wasp class kind of look to it.

and a non blocked image, hosted on imageshack:

go to www.starfleet-museum.org for more.

And isn't the purpose of nacelles to look cool? If not, then what's the purpose, because since the defiant doesn't have nacelles, then none should have to.

Is ther option to upload images instead of using a link I can't seem to find the button? sorry Mad...

Thanks guys. :) I'm glad this has been such a success. :)

I really like the idea of a housing around the pair of Nacelles... it won't enclose them entirely, but it could hide the connection point that's in the middle there.

I also had another thought; in order to put it in the timeframe that I want, maybe I will turn it into the USS Archon - A. That could keep the original registry intact, and make fit right in.

I'll have some more updates tomorrow.

Any other suggestions?
