Ancient Atari Question

Hiya, folks.

When I was a very young kid, in 1978 or so, we had an Atari game that I loved. I'm trying to track it down but can't find anything on it, including the title.

It was basically a very, very primitive version of Sim City. You had a continent or two, and you had to place your fields and your industries strategically to catch the rains and to keep your pollution under control.

That's really about all I remember about it. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Sounds like MULE, but there was no pollution control involved - more pure economics centering around production, supply and demand. Was this on the 2600/5200 console or the 8-bit computer line (400/800)?

I've played literally hundreds of Atari games, in fact I have a 2600 emulator and 700 games on my computer, and flipping through them I don't have a clue about what you might be referring to.

And what 137th said, was it a 2600 console or a 400/800 home computer? It sounds like the game would require a pretty elaborate interface that the 2600 would have been hard-pressed to produce. The graphics weren't much better, but they were a bit more towards the C64 side of things with the keyboard and whatnot.

It was a 2600, I believe.

I just googled M.U.L.E. and looked at the results, and it wasn't that. The map you played on was a very primitive North & South America.

I appreciate the help.

BINGO! It was Utopia! I thought I was going nuts for a second there.

Thanks to all who helped narrow it down.

Joe, solved
