Hidily ho!
To start with, my fictions are mostly in a type of Trek/Dr. Who crossover, but I also have what I call an expanded universe of the universe set from one of my favorite games, In Search of the Most Amazing Thing from the old PC's. I'll explain that in abit.
Now, I'm not sure which time era of the trek part could be used, but here's the deal:
After the first contact, and man started to finally 'grow up' as it were, there were many who were scared or angry that their status que was gone. Some of the Conestoga type ships leaving Earth to set up new colonies out amongst the stars was a PERFECT opportunity for these scumbags...such as the ones we deal with today, like industrialists, bankers, corporate suits, and others who tried to keep mankind in ignorent bliss, all the for the sake of power and/or profit, to get a second chance to get their niche'. They simply posed as would be explorers and left.
Now one of these worlds is the mysterious planet Porquartz (from the aformentioned ISotMAT game) and 2 Conestogas made it there. The ships lands in 2 different areas of the planet (and it's a BIG planet, the book ISotMAT comes with, The Adventures of Smoke Bailey, states the planet makes Jupiter look like a bowling ball, and Earth like a marbel.) and the ships are dismanteled and the building of a city each begins. The colony cities use the conestogas' warp engines for power, pretty much making the nacelles giant power plants. Now, unfortunately, the power hungry scumbags began to work their way into the colonys' administrative systems, and began to influence policy that would never make the light of day on post first contact Earth.
In short...these colony cities are more like what we see in the Alien films: Money's still a driving force, to the point that it's more valuable than human or alien life, as well as crooked politics; big companies that's like "the company" from aliens and OCP from Robocop pretty much, from behind the scenes, run things.
Some people, not wanting to live in these 2 cities, made small towns and villages in the countrysides. Smoke Bailey, a major character from ISotMAT, was a person who never liked either life. He just could not imagine doing the same things in life day after day, and began to explore this alien world he was born on (I'll let you guys read The Adventures of Smoke Bailey and not give away some of his encounters.). He's gonna have a part in my fictions, even though he's an old man now, but he's an old man who's in very good health for his age, and you'd still see the same 12 year old boy in him if you see his eyes.
Now onto a character I made:
Her name is Cassy Morrison, and here's the basics on her. (Some of this will be a bit unusual
)
Cassy was found under unusual circumstances. Only stormy night, several decades ago, by a couple of women who were walking home during a rather heavy rain storm. The rain became too much to try to walk in, not to mention lightening, so the two girls decided to seek some shelter. After several minutes of looking, they found a tavern, which was closed for the night, but the front door was ajar, swinging about in the wind. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, the girls walked in, and rested at the bar. After several minutes of relaxing and trying to dry off, the girls heard crying. They looked about the tavern, and upon looking under one of the pool tables (Anyone who can spot the homage here gets a cookie!
), the girls found a box where the crying was coming from. They pulled the box from under the pool table and open it. To their expectation, yet still surprised none the less, in the box was an infant.
This baby looked human, but still something was rather different about this child. First, this baby, who was no more than a few weeks old, had a full head of flame red hair. Second, this baby had green eyes that had irises akin to that of a cat or a snake, elliptical in appearance. Third, while this was a baby, its body was rather solid; the girls could feel the muscle on this child’s body. There was a note with the baby, and it pretty much said to please take care of this child, her species is engaged in a war with a nasty enemy, and her family do not want her to be in danger, and so on.
And they shortly left the tavern and took her home with them. Also, there were quite a few UFO sightings during the past few nights, so it was very easy to believe this note. They adopted her as their own daughter, and named her Cassy. They were some what skeptical, however, since the note referred to Cassy as a “she”, but the Cassy had a penis and testicles, rather than labia. As Cassy grew, she indeed was a pretty girl, but with different genitals, and her two mothers accepted that fact and that she was also not human, and probably not of this world.
The various oddities about her as she grew up were:
1: Despite being a petite, pretty girl, Cassy was strong as an ox. She once grabbed a bully who was picking on her friend by the throat and hoisted him up with one arm, and she was not even 10 years old yet.
2: She has a muscled, yet lean body (Think of either a ballerina or a gymnast).
3: She rarely is ever out of breathe (Her lung structure is similar to that of birds.).
4: During her school years, she was not only the best student, but had arguments with teachers about why such and such is wrong, and tried to show how it really is. She actually became a teacher; the educational staff graduated her early, and offered her a job, was learning from her as well. She'd pretty much be a daughter that Mr. Scott would have been proud to have.
5: Hardly much aging. As of now, Cassy is over 70 years of age....and still looks like someone you'd see in high school. Her species lives for a loooooooooong time and age very beautifully.
Now I based Cassy’s looks on the lovely Alyson Hannigan
I did a quick, and rather simplistic, photoshop of what Cassy would look like. The hair style is also how she often does hers. She also dresses up in very unusual clothes. Like if Cindy Lauper lived in Star Trek times.
Her species look rather human, but I wanted them to have an alieness about them that you could not quite make out, even though it's right in front of you. The eyes could be missed, or would go over one's head, and the lips (her species lip are metallic versions of their eye colors, if she had blue eyes, her lips would have been shiny blue) could easily be dismissed as just a girl wearing an unsual lip stick or something. Also, her species have 'males' and 'females', but both sexes are pretty much girl, just different reproductive organs. So Cassy, technically, is a 'boy' you could say.
She got the attention of Smoke, who saw alot of himself in her, and sees alot of promise in her. She was literally an alien amongst her peers. One day, Cassy saw a small shuttle craft like vehicle hovering by the window of her apartment. The shuttle craft had a disk taped to it (transporters never been developed properly in these colonies...or possibly withheld from public...millitary and corporate often does that in these cities) and the disk had a message from Smoke, offering her a chance at life full of adventure and getting away from the hustle and bussel of colony life. Cassy grabbed a few changes of clothes, some snacks for the trip there, and jumped into the shuttle. She meets Smoke, who she refers to as "Uncle Smoke" (Like how Webbigale from Duck Tales calls Scrooge McDuck "Uncle Scrooge, despite there being no relation.), and gets her own home in the city of Metallica, a city populated by living robots and machines (not to be confused with the machine world in ST: TMP, though I was at one time tempted to have a small colony of them on another area of Porquartz.). She'd also learn more of herself, Porquartz, and what's beyond.
And her new life begins from there.
I'm working on some of the first stories now, and post some up later, once I'm happy with them.
I'd post more information, but I'd give away some key elements.
Extra bits of info:
The colony cities are sort of a mix of Couriscant and Dragon Ball Z; a whole mish-mash of various archituecture styles than developed over the years after the Conestogas landed.
The life styles of these rather like what we see in Aliens and Robocop, where big companies and bad egg city leaders go out of their way to enfluence the people. Withholding various informations and technologies developed/discovered, simply to keep the public ignorent and getting rich off them.
The big wigs of the cities even going so low as to keep any knowledge of the Federation all covered up. (Porquartz is pretty far outside Federation space, or at least outside the influence of it. Hey, it worked for the SS Valiant, right?)
The Doctor Who elements will crop up later over time with the stories.
I'm thinking Smoke Bailey could be a distent relative of Mr. Bailey from The Corbormite Manuever. I still would like a 'casting call' for Smoke, just to get an idea who would be great to play him. He's a tall, old man. He's bald as Jaun-Luc Picard, but with a beard....sorta like a bald Obi-Won or Roshi from Dragon Ball. He's also got a youthful, energetic look to his eyes if you saw him face to face. And he won't hesitate to tell someone in authority what they can go do to him/herself if need be.
I also still need to pick a Trek era to place this in.
So, gimme some feed back, comments and, if you like suggestions to improve or try if you are interested in any of these stories.
