An American watching "Skins"

I'm only up to episode 4 of the second series, but I just started watching the show Wednesday afternoon.

I love it. Is it over the top? Of course, the bus thing is just ridiculous, but that's TV. And above all, it's fun, funny, serious and entertaining and that's all you need in a show. However the ending song for the first series was better than anything "Glee" has ever done.

The show is sex and swearing, but it is so well written and acted and just so well made I love it. It puts American TV to shame. I love how teenages can just have their ass showing and their balls flapping around on a TV show. It somehow grounds the show.

I'm just really really enjoying it and will miss the characters when they leave at the end of the season. However I'm glad they aren't going to try to make the characters stay on for 10 years and say only 3 days have past or something. That's a gutsy move and once Netflix adds season 3 I'll give it a try. If not I can at least like these 18-19 episodes.

I'm on the episode "Michelle" for series 2. She is a bitch! Why couldn't she get hit by a bus?

I think series 3 and 4 are a little lower in quality than series 1 and 2, but they still have some great episodes. They just try too hard to out-do themselves. Still can't wait for the third generation of characters. If you like Skins you should check out The Inbetweeners.

I have to wait for all of those because they aren't up on Netflix yet. :)

I finished the first two series in about 5 days, something good from not sleeping recently. The second to the last episode, Cassie, felt like 5 episodes in one. It was just amazing how much they stuck in it and how well it was. The last episode I found a little disappointing with how some of the storylines end, still still great fun. Plus they are planning a movie, so why not?

However I still can't stand Michelle, and hate the fact Maxxie seemed to be a completely useless character in the show. They went "I want to dance!" to "I have a creepy stalker!" to nothing really at all. Kind of lame.

Cassie and Sid were my favourite characters of the first two series. I loved the storyline with Sid's dad, so unexpected. And Chris's final few episodes too. Yeah it's a shame Maxxie got the short end of the stick. But I think they did pretty well for having a load of inexperienced writers under the age of 20.

Another show you should check out besides Inbetweeners is Misfits. Superpowered young offenders, what could go wrong?

i watched the first season and a few episodes into the second season then gave up on it. too many stupid adults on the show and most of the acting was pretty terrible. the kids were okay. i liked Sid and the loopy girl he liked, Cassie? Luna?

The first few episodes of series 2 are pretty the worst. However it gets a lot better. Caddies last episode is so great.
