Amy's occupation revealed (spoilers, obviously)

It seems from the intrepid set reporters today that Amy is in fact a policewoman (seen filming in said uniform with the Eleventh Doctor wearing 10's outfit (sans jacket), indicating the first episode.)

They also report a snatch of dialogue with Amy saying to the Doctor: "Twelve years of therapy!" That supports the idea that the Doctor first meets her as a child and then later as an adult.

Well to be fair, a cop is only as good as her criminals are bad.

Gwen wasn't exactly being forced to jump through flaming hoops when she was on the job.

Not to blow one's own trumpet but I mentioned someone spotting her in Uniform last week.

Steve Moffat is definitely using my sexual fantasies as inspiration. I'll refrain from bringing a lawsuit over copyright infringement as long as he films that one involving Martha and the Jelly Monsters.

Judgining by these photos she's most definitely NOT a Policewoman.

A stripper possibly.

Oh good lord!

If she were a stripper would she be wearing flat shoes like that? Also would she be wearing a stab vest? That said red nails seem incongruous for an on duty officer, and having her hair down like that seems odd as well, maybe she lost her hat and her hair got all unpinned?

Well either they're just filming her from the top up and she's got her legs free to help her run, or somehow she loses her trousers in the episode!

There are a lot of scrapes and scratches on the back if Smith's shirt, I wonder what that's all about? Something that happens to 11, or something that happened to 10??

Could she be a bicycle cop? Those look a bit like cycling shorts.

No real Policewomen in UK dress like that. I'm pretty sure they all wear trousers, just like the men do.

Given that this is still a show with a large audience of children, I'll say she's coming from/going to a fancy dress party when she meets the Doctor. (Or rather meets him again after 12 years.)

UK Bicycle cops wear trousers as far as I can tell.

One thing is certain from all the photos of Amy we've seen so far...they really want us to see her legs!

From other shots, the trousers are ripped as well (there's a gaping hole in one knee)... most likely related to events leading up to the regeneration.

Thats not a bad suggestion, it would explain a lot of things, you're right there's no way she's going to be a stripper!

I wonder if her first meeting with the doctor is with 11 from some time in the future, so hence from a newly regenerated 11's perspective he hasn't actually met her before. That would keep the time traveller's wife motif going...

It would, but would require a hellish string of coincidences to pull off - Doctor bumps into grown-up Amy, leaves and meets her younger self, then for some reason comes back and happens to discover alien (or non-human, at any rate) shenanigans which he gets her to help him defeat?

Now if he meets her, fights the bad guys and then due to a TARDIS hiccup her first trip is actually to her own past, then it might work, although that would indicate his entire meeting with young Amy that mandates:

"Twelve years in therapy!"

was simply good acting on his part (since grownup Amy will presumably be hiding in the TARDIS).

Another overheard line from Matt Smith (Twittered from one of the set reporters):

"I've got twenty minutes to save the world and the Post Office is closed!"

No different from 10 travelling back to say hi to Martha in smith and Jones
