Lights! Apparently the LEDs have a blue cast, because they make purple light inside the red plastic. They also seem to be directional, because most of their light comes out the front (and rear) without casting much of a glow inside the engine shrouds.

That really takes me back ... I built the glow-in-the-dark version when I was a teen and loved the little scout craft. I'm going to have to get a couple more copies of that kit and build it with my little boy in a few years.

Just dropped by the projectrho site, and really have to ask: With the original kit back in production and selling for less than $30, why would anyone spend upwards of $100 for a smaller, less detailed resin kit?
