On The View today they were talking about how Adam lost because he is god hating and gay.
Tell that to some of his female fans. I must find the link to the video of the girl who insisted that he's straight.
Thoughts on the finale: Shocked that Kris won, he's had some great moments but was usually mediocre. That third song they both had to sing was garbage, hope they don't do that again. David Cook's new song was amazing... the one he did earlier in the season was shit I was worried his 15 was already running out, but he's here to stay with a song like that.
Hope Simon doesn't leave the show. This is the first season I've watched from beginning to end... caught the AI bug late. But without Simon who knows it could be the last.

Well that's just stupid. I'm sure some idiots didn't vote for him because he's not a Christian (He got my vote because of that!
) and he's gay. However I'm sure some people didn't vote for Obama just because he is black, however that number is tiny and doesn't matter.I find it odd they didn't say by how much Kris won. Lats year they said Cook won by 12 million votes.
Simon is on for 2 more season. The last 2-4 years they had a song writing contest in which both singers would have tosing the same garbage song. Sadly some trash thing will be done next year too.
I think that's why Simon said Adam won round 1, Kris Round 2, and no one asked him round 3 because they were both losers.
I think it was the "Melinda Doolittle effect".
She, like Adam, was the most consistently good performer that season, often outperforming the others.
It seemed like a given she would be in the final.
But my theory is this: Jordin fans knew if they didn't vote for her (and vote often), she would not be in the final. Blake's fans had a parallel thought, again thinking they would be up against Melinda.
Meanwhile, Melissa's fans probably felt a bit too confident, and their voting didn't match the other two who were desparate for their singer.
So she was "voted off" for the Final 3 week.

Also, it seemed to be that Adam did a Bo Bice.
On the final 3, Bo had one INCREDIBLE performance that was final -worthy. But during the actual final week -- it didn't seem as good.
With Adam...the first was nice & subtle..none of his trademark "scream" or active performance. That would have been a great piece of the puzzle.
But the missing piece was something really active & powerful, like he did on Wednesday.
And looking at Adam's reaction -- I honestly don't think he cares. He will won't have to spend as much time doing Idol interviews, and can focus more on the stuff he wants to do.

Season 7 is the only other one I watched, and I'm pretty sure they didn't do that. The winning song was Time of My Life which David only sung after winning... and it was a decent song actually. This year that winning song was also the one they both had to perform the night before... and it sucked.

Maybe it was embarrassing? I saw on VFTW.com a claim that most of the votes for Kris Allen... came from Alabama. I don't know why - is he from there?

Yeah - some moderation could probably help Adam there. Personally, I find his personality more off-putting than Kris, who's like the ultimate 'nilla wafer.

The most interesting song Kris did was "Whats Going On" and it was interesting in a WTF????? kind of way. Like Adam's blend of Johnny Cash and the Middle East. Had to wonder if he actuall read the lyrics before settling on an arrangement. Doing a song about soldiers dying and mothers crying in his usual sappy, peppy, poppy style had me scratching my head. Nothing wrong vocally but again WTF??????

I always thought there was one song that the Top 2 contestants had to perform on first finale night, and the winner just repeated that song on the second finale night (which was exactly what Adam and Kris did, as was the case with D. Cook and D. Archuleta last year). Are there any recent changes?

Power texting? If they can prove it (assuming it's a legitimate claim), then make Adam Lambert the champion. Doesn't change my opinion of Kris, though.
Well the problem is it's cheating, but you don't know if it made a difference or not. Why make the show and Kris look bad when he might have won from "real" votes anyways? It's not like Kris had anything to do with it, plus Adam looked pretty happy not to have won.
