This season is going to be interesting, now that there are two female judges opposite Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell. But I wonder how they voted or will vote on the candidates who auditioned? You've got an even-numbered panel of judges ... How do they break a tie?

Okay, assuming all four judges voted 2-2 on a contestant, Simon would still be the "ultimate" judge? I know he has a lot of appeal, but his making the final decision would just nullify the point of having four judges on the show. An odd-numbered panel of judges would obviously make more sense.

Who cares how they will break a tie, they will just add another judge.

However if it's a tie I think they might just go "screw it" and send you through, at leats in the first round.

In the UK, when the similar X-Factor show with Cowell went to 4 judges, they needed 3 judges saying yes to put someone through. 2-2 wasn't enough.

No. Paula has a big part to play as a conduit for crazy antics. She's looney but harmless. They'll never get rid of her. Randy however...useless critique plus a new judge with music producing cred equals numbered days.
