American Horror Story (Season 4): Freak Show

Finn Wittrock has proven himself to be a welcome new addition to the ensemble cast. That guy deserves at least an Emmy nod. He has such depth in character (playing Dandy Mott), and I hope to see him again in future seasons.
I hope that they bring Finn Wittrock back. He was the best thing about this lukewarm season. The final 3 episodes this season were brilliant. My favorite finale is Asylum but this was the second best of the 4 finales.
While the finale itself was a bit tepid, I did like that it ended on a positive note.
I felt sorry for the carnies when Dandy killed every one of them, leaving only Jimmy, Desiree, Bette and Dot. Although the freaks plotted to kill Elsa at some point, they were misguided and their real enemy was this madman who was constantly obsessed with them. Dandy eventually got what he deserved. And when Elsa died, she went to "freakshow heaven" and was reunited with her old friends, and all seemed forgiven.
I think Asylum had the best finale. I wonder if the producers will successfully convince Ms. Lange to stay one more season.

EM Thank you for saying that because I was about to post a rant on this being the worst ending ever - the DVR cut off in the middle of the commercial break just after Elsa finally agrees to do the Halloween show. I even added extra minutes to the recording prior in case it went long.
That said, AHS:FS is my absolute favorite season yet. It's going to be a hard act for them to follow, in my book. Including the main title sequence...

Yes, I liked the ending myself. While she did the Halloween show, Edward Mordrake came but did not take her soul with him. Elsa was back in the tent talking to Ethel while the rest of the carnies prepared for another night of performance. In the afterlife the shows were always packed, according to her bearded friend. Elsa at first lamented that she probably deserved to pay for her mistakes in life, but Ethel told her that was not necessary. Ma Petite dolled her up, and as the curtains were raised and the crowed cheered on, Elsa Mars was back on the stage.
