Amazing Lego TOS prop replicas.

Guy by the name of GeekyTom has pout together a pretty incredible landing party prop set using Lego.

The tricorder is fully-functional, with opening and closing panels and working lights. He's got a video of it on his Flickr page, which I'm not able to embed. Anyway, his Flickr stream is here. Tric video should be the first item in it.

God, I'd love to have these as kits.

That's truly incredible. Where did he get some of those lego parts from, I've never seen them before! Excellent use of them though.

Lego are no doubt trying to phone him with a job offer at this moment !

They would do better to wait a while until CBS/Paramount finish their 'cease and desist' call...

:)

As long as he isn't making any money from the project, there will be no cease-and-desist call.

I presume there will be no kits of those props?

Unlikely. Although Lego do have a website where people can nominate fan-made models to be considered for production if it gets enough votes. Sorry, I can't remember any more than that.

It's highly unlikely it'll happen, though. Especially with Mega-bollocks having a contract for the new film.

Excellent stuff, here. If Lego and CBS were smart, they would be getting the paperwork done to start producing these for sale.

^I did not know that - so I just did a quick search on them and see that they will be introducing new products at Comicon - which is going on now. I'll just watch and see what comes happens.

Those are pretty sweet - puts my little 8-inch Enterprise I scraped together back in the early '80s to shame, let me tell you! I remember using a big "wheel" piece for the primary hull, rubber rim and all.
