Am I the only one?

Oh, but there were too fatties (Troi) in Rodenberry's future, although we might have to assume that they were fat by choice.

A stylistic decision... Hell, it could have even been political to intentionally carry an extra 30 pounds.

Fat is Cyrano Jones or those Zakdorn aliens. Troi was not fat.

I was 11 when TNG started.

From an 11 year olds perspective, she was like a tank!

It was season 5 before I realized that she was short too.

(Just shy of 5'5".)

Now that I am 2 feet taller and three times the weight of the 11 year old version of myself, I'd probably agree with you if I was honest, but first impressions stick.

This is probably why I tend to think most people born after JFK was assassinated are idiots. :shifty:

Troi just looked kind of chunky because she had chunky hair, chunky boobs and was dressed like an idiot in the first few seasons. She looks stunning in VOY and NEM.

At any point she could have asked for something else to wear, and yet she didn't.

You're confusing the in-universe reasons why she didn't ask for something else to wear with the real reasons, which was what I was talking about. See next.

So what is your in-universe explanation for the catsuit?
I don't need one, because I don't feel the need to be an apologist for the silly decisions UPN made.

:adore:

I think everyone sat up and went "whoa" when we first saw this.

Because they are all dirty shameless exhibitionists.

If you broach that thing on a nipple juuu-uust right, without a doubt, every-time it goes chirp-chirp, you will go cum-cum.

I wonder if there's a Star Fleet Regulation which instructs/insists that a communicator badge is never placed in the groinaleral region?

One thing about the 24th century Starfleet uniforms is the design is just formal enough to make anyone look more important. Even Neelix.

Appalling.

ENT got to just ignore all this and stick everyone in hawaiian shirts and baseball caps.

Suddenly I need to see T'Pol in Trip's Hawaiian shirt and baseball cap.

:)

A woman wearing her boyfriends clothes (if you are the boyfriend) is kinda like marking territory, which feels like you've climbed a mountain sort of mission accomplished.

A man wearing his girlfriends clothes is hot.

And meanwhile, unfortunately, a same sex couple wearing each other's clothes is just cheap.

I decided years ago that if I was a man I would only wear hawaiian shirts and jeans, and in the summer shorts. I would have an awesome collection of hawaiian shirts.
