Am I the only one who really likes the Enterprise Theme Song?

Do you like the Enterprise theme song?

I think the ENT opener is actually pretty inspiring... but maybe I'm just a sap. I'm watching all the ENTs at the moment and I always stop to listen to the theme song. Anybody else?

I think it's alright, but nothing breathtaking. I also think part of my opposition to it stems from the fact that the song in the first wave of promos for the series would have been a much, much better fit, IMO.

I certainly don't despise it like some do.

You're definitely not the only one; I like it, too. I guess I don't love it, but I thought it was the least of the problems of the show.

I really like it. I'm not crazy about all the lyrics, but it works very well w/ the visuals, which I love.

Yep, I like it.

I can understand how some wouldn't like it, but it fits a show about the pioneering days of the Federation very well. You couldn't use it for TNG for example.

Though saying that the faith is of the heart is a little, I dunno, redundant. Where else would you say faith comes from if we're going to talk in these figurative terms?!!? That's just a little nitpick though.

The song is ok. I just think it doesn't fit for an opening of a Star Trek series, I'd prefer some music there, as it was with earlier series. But that is not the song's fault, so not reason to dislike it because of that ;)

I heard it a couple of years before ENT--I think it was used on the soundtrack of some movie with Robin Williams--and I thought "What a godawfully soppy song." I thought someone was joking when they said it was going to be ENT's theme song. I really couldn't believe they would pick that particular song.

I much preferred "Wherever You Will Go" that was used in the early promos for the series.

Makes me want to vomit. It's cheese with an extra helping of cheese on top. I actually prefer the theme they used in the mirror universe episodes.

It sounds like a cheesy 80s soft rock or 'sweet metal' ballad. The vocals are particularly awful. It's so awful that it kept me from giving the show a chance for a while. When I watch ENT, I always use the mute button during the opening credits, except in "In A Mirror, Darkly".

Hell yeah! :bolian: The MU theme is awesome. Those are the only 2 episodes of ENT where I actually enjoy watching the credits.

I like it, but I don't love it. I would have preferred an orchestral theme, but if we were struck with pop songs, we could have had much worse.

The MU theme is awesome, but I wouldn't want it for all of Enterprise. Too militaristic (well, I guess it was the intention).

Nah, of course it wouldn't work for regular ENT.

I wouldn't have minded a pop song with vocals for the ENT theme, in fact I would've welcomed it as a change and break from the habit of using orchestral themes that was getting a bit repetitive... only if the song they chose had been, you know, any good.

It was a bit like someone who has only listened to opera all his life and no clue about contemporary pop music but wants to be hip, so he starts listening to Michael Bolton to look 'cool'.

I don't remember liking the MU episodes... it was awhile ago that I saw them though. I remember thinking they were not only improbable, but that the "evil Archer" was so unbelievably acted that it felt like I was watching a high school production... and I like Bakula.

Then again, to be real, I didn't like a single mirror universe episode or novel in any Trek, ever.

^ Scott Bakula can't convincingly play a villain to save his life, but that's the only flaw in the otherwise great two-parter. But the opening credits may be the most brilliant part of it.

This. The lyrics are good for a prequel series, but the melody just doesn't feel like Trek to me. The song was also a really bad fit for Season 3.

I love it! The lyrics don't really bother me I just like the way they show the evolution of human transportation through the ages. Kind of catchy too.

It was the wrong choice for a show full of wrong-headed ideas. The theme song, the design of the ship/tech, the cast/crew, the tone of the show. You might not be the only one, but you are in the minority for sure. Just reading this thread has the danger of putting theat insipid song in people's heads...
