Am I the only one who disliked Icheb?

Problem is that brain surgery had regressed from the day's of "Spock's Brain" were getting to brain is just as easy as opening the top part of your head like it's a lid to cookie jar.

They should have brought Quinto in to do a Sylar on Seven. :p

I didn't exactly dislike him, but he was kind of a Wesley 2.0. I liked the episode with his parents, but mostly, he was rather boring and a bit of a Mary Sue kind of a character.

I would have preferred that they'd kept Mezoti, too, as she would have provided more story inspirations with Naomi. And because she wasn't nearly as close to adulthood as Icheb was, perhaps she could have been adopted by Seven, thus providing motherhood storylines for Seven.

All you WC haters out there...I will fight you!

WC has exploring other other planes of existence since you were in dyyappers.

For me Wesley followed a bell curve. I really liked him in "The Game" and "The First Duty" (though maybe I just liked seeing him stumble there), but in early episodes, egads...and they character assassinated him in his final appearance.

I think Wesley was okay for the most part once Michal Pillar took over the show. It's the first 2 seasons were he really looks bad. Of course everyone is going to look bad next to Jake who is IMO the most realistic teenager in all of Trek history. He felt like a normal guy to me. Plus I think the realtionship with his dad felt real.

I had no problem with Icheb. He's not a big favorite of mine, but I found his presence, especially his relationship with Seven, rather interesting.

There were stronger and there were weaker Icheb episodes. I liked him a lot in the episode with q junior, though.

He's only in a handful of episodes. He's Q2's buddy. He saves Seven with his implant. He makes Tom jealous when B'elanna starts hitting on him. He's in the intro of Lineage.

Oh yeah-the Borg kids episode. And the one with Icheb's parents

I can't think of anymore, but I liked him in all of these.

EDIT: He's also in Endgame. He beats Tuvok at the Vulcan version of Pick-Up Sticks.

Icheb was never as annoying as Wesley with all of Wesley's aimless mystical Mozart hoo-ha. Icheb seems a much more grounded, responsible character.

But the borg kids are on odd lot to insert into the ensemble alright. There doesn't seem to be any pressing creative need for them. And even if there was such a creative gap, I'd much have preferred if they focused on the troubled ex-Equinox officers than yet more ex-borg types.

I never really liked him. I found him rather bland and uninteresting.

I could never understand why they brought him in when they had such a tight budget. The actor probably didn't do the job for free.
Yeah, agreed. I didn't like the Borg children bit. Didn't buy that one bit. If you're 10 years old, you can be a Borg, if the suit parts will fit your body. We see adults transformed in a couple hours. Mentally, there shouldn't have been any issue... just body size.

We've seen Picard fully recovered from being a Borg. No implants left over. But his time as a Borg was rather short... probably not long enough to become fully dependent upon them. Maybe if you become one as a child, you're forever dependent. That kind of sucks... talk about not being able to go on vacation without bringing along a portable regenerator. And what if it fails? You're going to die... Sucks. Icheb was with the Borg for a few years, so I guess he's stuck with having implants. I found his character rather wooden. But then so was 7of9 in the beginning. Maybe being "Borgified" neutralizes some of your personality. No idea if this was showing a limitation of the actor for Icheb.

Actually, in the First Contact movie, Picard tells Lily that he still has some Borg stuff internally, including nanoprobes, which is probably why he can still hear the collective when they are near. Similarly, in Unimatrix 0, at the end of the second part, the Doctor mentions that he was able to remove MOST (but not all) of the implants of Janeway, Torres, and Tuvok, and they were Borg for only a few days as well. I have to wonder what those 3 still have that are Borg - is it all internal, or is there visible stuff under their uniforms. They kind of dropped the ball with Torres when she first got pregnant, by not mentioning her experiences as a Borg and what effect, if any, that would have made on her pregnancy.

The thing is, nanoprobes need an energy source. These people aren't regenerating in an alcove. I expect that with all of them, a mental "rewiring" makes them sensitive to communications from the collective. But I'd find it hard to believe they've still got working Borg hardware inside them.
