Am I nuts? Battlefield Earth > Revenge of the Fallen

I was listening to the radio today when 21 Guns by Green Day came on. This got me thinking about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and the scene where he goes to college. For whatever reason I than thought how I think Battlefield Earth was a much better movie.

Now I do not beleive Battlefield Earth to be the utter tripe everyone makes it out to be. Sure the editor got lazy on the screen cuts, using the same damn one every time, but the movie isn't "bad". Transformers 2 on the other hand I think is utter tripe and must be worse than Battlefield Earth.

Am I nuts?

I watched Battlefield Earth one time, and I will never ever watch it again. By far one of the single worst movies I've ever seen.

I have watched both Transformers movies several times.

So I'm nuts?

I enjoyed the first transformers movie. The second one just seems wrong. I'd watch Eagle Eye about a bazillion times more often than I'd ever watch transformers 2.

I just turn my brain off when I watch it, and it makes it a lot more fun. I enjoy it for how absurd it is.

Ah Battlefield Earth, an exiting book full of adventure, wonder and aliens. Now the movie was so completely horrid that I would surely watch Return to Boggy Creek again before I even give it half a look. Trans2 on the other hand is a good no brain picture. Buy ticket, Buy popcorn, remove brain, watch film.

Agreed completely, wholeheartedly and utterly.

Did I mention completely?

Edit: I hated Battlefield Earth so much I didn't even finish it. I'd ask if I missed anything, but I think the answer to that is obvious.

I'd sooner watch both films than listen to Green Day.
^this^ :rommie:

It's been a while since I've seen Revenge and a lot longer since Battlefield but from memory I think TF2 was worse.

Me thinks I may have to rewatch them to decide however. Don't worry I'll take proper precautions (Rifftrax)

I've never seen TF2 (don't plan to), but Battlefield Earth is an example of a truly incompetent big-budget sci-fi film, and for that reason will always have a kind of immortality. I'll probably watch Battlefield Earth again sometime just for the morbid curiosity factor, but I'll probably never watch TF2. So I'd give the slight nod to Battlefield Earth.

TF2 was at least fairly watchable and entertaining up to the big forest battle.

From what I've seen and heard of Battlefield Earth, there aren't ANY good stretches.

I'd say teh destruction of the alien homeworld was watchable, but than I felt the entire wovie was watchable. There are very few movies I can't watch. When I watched District 9 I think I fell asleep at somepoint and work up when they were into their assualt of MNU. District 9, although watchable, was not enjoyable.

you're completely out of your tree. you're knitting with only one needle. you're a few bricks short of a hod, sarnies short of a picnic, one wave short of a shipwreck. you're completely chicken oriental if you think ROTF is worse than Battlefield Earth.

And if he thinks District 9 wasn't a good film.

They're both horrid, but Battlefield Earth set out with lofty intentions that it utterly failed to meet through good old-fashioned bungling, whereas TF2's intentions were low and base and cynical, and as a result it achieved exactly what it was meant to do: hoover up money by showing giant robots and the US military blowing shit up. :D

Funny

As flawed as Revenge of the Fallen is it is still more re-watchable than Battlefield Earth.

If they really want to torture the Gitomo gang then put Battlefield Earth on loop and submit them to that.

The Transformers movies are great, Battlefield Earth was nowhere near as interesting or well made. I vote for a few cards short of a deck.

I haven't seen either one, and I plan on that still being true when I die.

I also plan on living to be 400.
