Alternative View On Star Trek II

I got as far as the girls showing that they can't even read the title. Why is their opinion worth anything?

Aggggghh....

This is like nails on a chalkboard.

"I dont understand why they both have Star in the title. Which one came first?"

I got as far as "How good did Kirstie Alley look?...Hello? Weight loss?" and I honestly couldnt listen to any more. I know we have female science fiction fans on this board, so I'm going to stop typing now, as I might say something out of term.

:D

I got to the part where the one girl said it (Star Trek II) was too complicated for her.

I guess not everything can be as cool as America's Next Top Model!

Fans are cool, and idiots are not.

That statement doesn't work because you're talking about overlapping sets.

You're right. I wasn't thinking the statement through in a logical manner. How about this one?

Both genders have their shares of idiots, and it's not worth wasting time to listen to any of them.

I listened to it. Very cute.

Sure, who in the mainstream world doesn't confuse "Star Wars" and "Star Trek?" It's like calling the pointy-eared guy "Dr. Spock."

"When they were down there in the Botany Bay, why didn't they just beam up?"

"They weren't in a secure location."

"You just made that up."

Sorry, the girls aren't idiots - they've got the makings of fans right there.

"My favorite part was where he goes 'Kh-a-a-a-an!' I finally understand all those Shatner impersonations."

Shows how someone who has never seen anything of Star Trek or had very limited knowelge of it would understand seeing just one film.

Ok so some bits are a little daft but alot of people make mistakes when watching something which has a background they know nothing about...its like seeing a lost episode in season 3 and not seeing anything before

Funny, "geeks" are usually intelligent. These are morons.

EDIT: I take it back. This CAN'T be for real. If these girls were really this stupid they'd forget to breathe.

They aren't geeks. They married geeks. Geeks don't look for smarts when they mate. It's the one thing that awful Big Bang Theory gets right.

Well they sure don't have looks or personality, so the attraction was....?

And I for one insist on dating smart chicks.

They're not pin-ups, that's fer damn sure. Still, all things are relative.

I didn't get past the thing about the vaginal lips.

They're smart enough to humor their boyfriends without taking them and their obsessions seriously.

Anywho, anybody that feels the need to try to explain the plot nonsense in one of these films in a logically satisfactory way is a trekkie at heart.

wow. i guess this is the public perception of star trek and scifi in general but it is still cringeworthy.
