Alternate Universe/Reality Question

That makes perfect sense to me. If you pop yourself over to another reality, you pop that version of you OUT. If HE comes HERE, he pops YOU out.

Uhh, to where? What happens to the version who's "popped out?" Do they get shoved over into the next quantum reality? Do you get a whole domino effect of duplicates getting pushed one reality over?

Or do you just switch places with the other guy? I think that's what "Parallels" implied.

Christopher, I think Positronic is thinking something akin to James Hogan's "Paths to Otherwhere", in which people can transport themselves into a parallel universe but at the expense of placing their parallel counterparts into their "original" universe....sometimes with unexpected and unwanted results.

Okay, if Kim and Naomi's existence was akin to Riker's in "Second Chance", et al, then there should have been no reason why more of the crippled Voyager's crew couldn not have come over (aside from plot purposes, etc). But there was mention made that any more than those two, and there would be ill effects for both ships.

I see what you're getting at with "Visionary", I forgot about that one.

Your transphasic torpedo explanation makes more sense than what I was thinking of. As I said, I was waiting for the caffeine to do its job.

The problem on what happened on Voyager was that the rift which served as a connection point between 2 ships was pretty unstable as it was.
Moving a drastically large amount of individuals from one ship to another would have affected the balance of matter on both ships because you'd be having way too much excess mater going to the other ship.

Besides, what happened with Voyager was happening inside the same universe as it was confirmed on screen.
The ship and crew were duplicated, but neither was able to depart their own separate ways as they shared a same power source.
