Re: Alright, Apostle, Recommend Me a Car - Anyone Else Who Knows Cars
1) I love it when people use their personal experience of 1 car to either say that an entire brand is great or is shit.
2) I would recommend staying away from German cars. Yes they are fun to drive and look nice, but they also have terrible electrical problems, that goes for all of them, from VWs through Audis, Mercedes and BMWs. Porsche is the exception but I don't think you're looking at one of those
3) I would stay away from Chrysler. They have poor build quality and although I like some of the exteriors, the interiors are absolute garbage in all respects.
4) Personally, I wouldn't get a GM, their quality is not as high as some of the competition and I would still have some concerns over the economic situation.
5) Just a few years ago I would have recommended staying away from Ford but I think that they have turned things around quite nicely. Their newer cars look great, which is amazing because just recently they looked like shit on wheels and I think that they will be financial secure in the long run.
6) If you really want to be safe in the winter then AWD is the way to go and Subaru does that very well. The Impreza is made in Indiana, its got the size you are looking for and drives very well.
7) The new Toyota Venza also comes in AWD, though you can get just FWD, both come in 4 and 6 cylinder options. It is a stylish car, something which is fairly new to Toyota which also used to have a fleet of ugos. Its also a sizable car that would meet your needs in that regard. Also, it is made in KY.
Bottom line, I would definatley test drive the Impreza and the Venza.
