Alpha Protocol Delayed till 2010

Honestly I wouldn’t be posting about this if it wasn’t for the running joke that is 2009’s delayed list. Alpha Protocol was meant to have been released on the 27th of October 2009 but according to reports it has now been pushed back to June 2010.
Sega and Obsidian haven’t officially announced anything yet but Gamestop and Amazon Canada have already moved their release dates to sometime in June which lends more weight to the rumour.

With zero advertising now for the release of the game looks like its true.


The RPG game set in a Bourne/Bond type world was due out in 4 weeks at the end of October but the game has been pushed back out of this year but it gets worse as the new date is...

Summer 2010 (June most likely) seriously if they had problems why did it take them so long to push it back. I was a little worried with what I saw so am happy that they will have ages to work on it and one less game to buy during a busy time for me for games that I want.

However its also raises doubt that this game will live up to anywhere near the level of standard I was hoping for.

It's stupid. Sega has this listed on October 6. If it's been delayed, they should just come out and say it.

Frak! This game was originally scheduled to come out in early 2009, then Summer 2009, then October 6, then October 27...

It better be worth the damn wait.

I remember Q4 2008 then Summer 2009 then October and now this Flashpoint 2 was similar with Q4 2008 then Spring 2009 then Summer 2009 but at least thats finally coming out.

SEGA you need to work this out especially since another of your games Alien Colonial Marines was pushed back from Q4 2008 to Q2 2009 and then on hold till Q4 2010. I bet Alien vs. Predator misses its Q1 2010 release date too

Yeh along with Alpha Protocol we have see many titles drop out of Q4 2009...

* Mass Effect 2

* Splinter Cell: Conviction

* Mafia 2

* Alan Wake

* Aliens: Colonial Marines (Pushed back a whole year)

Pretty much confirmed on Sega's website that the game is delayed, even though no one has announced anyway. Oh well.

Gamespot reports...

Nearly one week ago, retailers began listing Alpha Protcol for release mid 2010. Now, on the day it was supposed to come out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, Sega has confirmed the postponement. On its official website, the publisher now lists the game as arriving in "Spring 2010" on all three platforms.

Well least not Summer 2010 as first feared. RPG Mass Effet out in Feb so probably April release date for Alpha.

As much as I wanted to play it, I'm glad it got pushed back. This fall got more affordable for me with that title being pushed back.

Oh yeah, OE and Sega released statements formally announcing the delay.

As for the timeline... 2010 looks worse than this Fall. Every freaking game moved to early 2010, including two giant RPGs in FF13 and ME2. It's great, but geez.
