Amanaman—who to me was always simply just Sliced Vegetable Man—needs to be redeemed. To me, he was one of the numerous failures in Jabba's palace: silly looking, and I could never decide whether it was intentional or unintentional.
Even the 2001 remake isn't cheap on the secondary market.

The snake creature actually has a name. He is called, Am' dub'boob'co. He is a kidnapped King from the planet of ArkVaga Vey and is forced to fight humanoid fighters in a underground cave. He will be the subject of a upcoming series of comics and novels along with a McFarlane toy statue the size of a couch.
He also has a daughter named Ma'dob'vop'oo who is a Jedi who will be trained by Luke Skywalker and will be featured in a series of comics, novels and toy line also from McFarlane. Probably.

When did Hasbro lose the license to Star Wars toys?
They didn't. Toys have distinct categories, from figures, to statues, busts, and buildable play sets.
Then I'll rephrase, when did McFarlane get the license as Jayson seems to think they have?
I believe Jayson is blowing smoke. Gentle Giant and Diamond Select have had the license in the past.
As a Star Wars action figure collector for the past 27 years let me say the following: no, Hasbro hasn't lost the license and is not about to lose the license.
I would find it hilarious when it does. Hasbro is the greatest evil since Disney yet people still buy.
