all new SUPERFRIENDS

You know...SUPERMAN--BATMAN--AQUAMAN--WONDER WOMAN; the classic Supefriends. If DC comics ever got around to doing a new SUPERRFRIENDS cartoon, and you got to pick the four Superheroes that would be the 'stars' who would you pick..

There are some rules to this..I will expand the roster to five
1. One of the heros MUST be female
2. Only two of the Superheroes can fly.
3. DC heroes only, of course.
4. One Minority as well

Quick questions.

1) Do Preexisting members of the SuperFriends/ Super Powers line up qualify for the new roster?

2) Do androids, aliens, or supernatural entities count as minorities?

3) oh and do gestalt characters count as one or more than one member?

Robin gets no props, huh? Just a sidekick?

Black Lightning (not Vulcan, that pantless freak)
Power Girl
Green Arrow
Red Tornado

Black Lightning and Power Girl would be an item per p.c. rules of kiddie programming.

Red Tornado would confused about human behaviour, leading to humorous situations.

Red, black and green, along with power, in the heroes names are subtle message about...I forget. :p

Their base is the International Hall of Justice located in The Hague.

Later we add Speedy to the cast, only Speedy is like Latino or Asian or female or some shit.

Good picks so far..AND yes, you can use previous members. But limit it to one only..here are my picks..

Green (Hal Jordan) Lantern--as the serious do gooder..
Huntress--A sexy version of course
Mr. Terrific--The gadget guy/minority (brains of the group)
Flash--Comic relief
Phantom Stranger--magic dude--not in every episode, but there for big episodes

My postulation for a team - probably a relatively radical one. The team would, following the current set-up of the Outsiders comic, recieve orders from Alfred.

Bat Girl (Cassie Cain) - female and a minority figure, she's an enigmatic figure and is also mute but a great fighter.

Terra (Atlee) - female, with Earth manipulation powers she would be a great mouthpiece for environmental stories and using the Atlee version would allow for an outside view on humanity.

Owlman (Roy Raymond Jr) - male, a reporter turned Batman figure which puts him simultaneously at odds and acting as a father figure to Bat Girl.

Power Boy (Identity Unknown) - male, the third version of the hero with his comic-book costume and, in his cover persona, a bit of a jock character - constantly trying to hit on Terra.

Beast Boy (Garfield Logan) - male, primarily because I think the character can be, when done well, pretty cool. He'd become friends with Power Boy - they'd goof off together.

I like it because it is so edgy..this could be the ADULT SWIM team!!!

Well you need a few archetypes so I'd go with...

Leader -

The Guardian - Old cop, cloned into a new powerful body. Captain America-alike
Blue Beetle - Genius inventor guy, also rich dude and a comic relief. Tony Stark-alike
Red Robin or Nightwing - Basically Robin all grown up and the resident detective of the team
Johnny Quick - Speedster like Flash, but a bit different - I'm kinda tired of seeing JUST Flash as the main speedster of the DCU
Power Girl - Super strength, flight, basically Superman and Wonder Woman in one sexy buxom package.

Hmmm interesting question. In addition to the big five mentioned above I would add the following heroes:

Power Girl
Black Lightning or Mr. Terrific (I'm leaning more towards Jefferson Piece, not yet familiar with Terrific enough as I've just gotten into reading Justice Society)
Green Arrow
Captain Marvel (surprised no one has mentioned him)
Batgirl (Barbara Gordon)

The original Superfriends? Gag.

I'd rather have CHALLENGE of the SUperfirends, with a Legion of Doom to fight with.

THAT i'd be interested to see...and who would you pick for the new Legion of Doom?

The only new Superfriends I want, would be a sequel to "Universe of Evil" - in which the SuperFriends and SuperEnemies battle it out.

Fun fact: There are indeed evil Wonder Twins in that episode. But you only see them in shadow, in the darkened 'Hall of Evil' (you can tell by their ears). They don't speak. God only knows what they'd have been like if they had...

oh, yes..but thats too simple..having to narrow your picks to four or five, as a show producer, would be far more interesting to me....besides, they never used GREEN LANTERN enough anyway!
