All My Enterprises....

This is a WIP for a design I did over the last year, IIRC, an attempt at something a *little* more "modern". Not sure if I was successful, but I like the design anyway. Not as much as my more retro designs, but.....anyhoo...the USS Dunsany.

Strange to think of the amount of 3D work I've done over the last year or so. And I'm glad it's been enjoyed as least as much as my old UESPA book covers. Thanks to those asshats at Photobucket, that old thread is a disaster now. I do hope to do a few more covers in the UESPA-verse this year, just gotta wait until real life calms down.

it is indeed more modern looking, the style reminds me a bit of the early '70's home computers and the like that they wanted to look "futuristic" :mallory:

After working for almost three months straight with no time off, I'm finally getting back to a somewhat normal schedule. Decided to get in a little practice with some retro stuff I'm working on. The Electroprise has always given me occasional trouble when rendering, so I almost wasn't able to render it. Had to rebuild the secondary hull again and managed to get a render. The space station was fun to build though.

That space station looks incredibly 1950's :mallory:

Thanks!

And yet, when one squints their eyes, elements of Franz Joseph's Tech Manual Starfleet Headquarters station can be seen. ;)

Believe it or not, that’s a happy coincidence.
The station was meant to a bit more 30’s/40’s looking, but I couldn’t pull off the “beams” the way I wanted and did this. It wasn’t until I was doing the post work that I caught that too!

Will probably do a newer version that’s a little more inline with the era.

Admittedly, I thought it was an enemy ship at first (probably due to the bold red color scheme) until you used the term "space station". Then I looked again, noticed how it was segmented and the small sphere atop the central axis and drew a comparison whether intended or not.

Well I got the promotion, but have been working ten hour days with no days off. I managed to snag the Ultraman blu ray and managed to watch a few eps in what spare time I've had. I've been listening to Space Patrol when I go to bed, and wanted to do some Trek 1955 images, but I really love the Japan Trek ships and ended up modifying the fighter craft to something more to my liking. Hopefully it looks more model like. Managed to kick out a quick image.....

Speaking of Ultraman, have you seen the new Ultraman on Netflix? It’s not a re-imagining of the original show, rather it’s a continuation of the concept and stories of the original, with some new characters mixed in.

it’s fun.

I haven't no. Glad to hear it's pretty good. Saw today that their making a Shin Ultraman movie 'ala Shin Godzilla. Looks like it's getting back to basics. Cant wait to see more about it

So quick question for everyone, finally getting some free time and want to work on something to keep myself busy. Any particular iteration you'd like to see more work from? Japanese Trek...Trek 1955...A new UESPA cover?

Not looking for specific idea's, just the universe. Right now about the best I can come up with is doing a second version of that last Electroprise image. The more I look at it, the more I hate it. It's just missing something.

Stay safe

Resisting the urge to suggest specific ideas as you requested, I would be entertained by any of your universes as they all have the potential for expansion. In that regard I don't have a preference.

If you don't mind, I am quite interested in the '70's SF USS Dunsany, I think that ship is intriguing, it really does have that how people from the '70's saw the future feeling.
https://buckrogers.fandom.com/wiki/Crichton <-- it really fits with Crichton's style and Buck Rogers is about as '70's as it can get. :mallory:

Done. I'll dig up the model and see where I left off. Seems like there was some part I wanted to redo, but couldn't find a save that was both far enough along, but before the part I wanted to change, which meant I had to redo it. It'll give me a chance to work on it. It's a bit outside my usual style, so I'm glad you like it. Keep an eye out

Thanks! The reason I'm avoiding specifics is because sometimes folks ideas of where something goes runs counter to mine, so it's best to just surprise people. I have thought about some Trek 1955 renders since I already have those models done.

I've been working on a Rocky Jones Encyclopedia off and on, but not sure that's really something people would be interested in. More niche than my usual stuff.

Awesome!, Thank you, personally I looove the shape of the Dunsany, everything is there but done different, the bussards on it are like the oldfashioned big LED's they had in the '70's.:mallory:

Personally I think those additions are awesome and the ship itself from this angle is also great, the neck is a really neat design feature looking the way it does, really nice. :mallory:
